Video Game General 3.0 - You know what should come back? Pre-rendered backgrounds!

I imagine the Kickstarter would need to hit 5 mill and then Sony would fund the back end.

If sony funds the game in any significant way its not coming to the PC

Because I want a sequel to Chrono Cross.

I’d be fine with that. At least ONE PS4/XB1 game should actually be exclusive…

this one is real it’s gotta be

LordWilliam, Destiny does have shit tier RNG, but you can’t even talk on that game because everybody knows your dumbass doesn’t play something if its not on Nintendo.

Speaking of Nintendo, my friend is making these mugs that have Smash Bros character emblems on them. He made me one of Zero Suit Samus and one for Ryu. 360 game case for scale of these fucking things.

I don’t know, didn’t stop Street Fighter 5 from going to PC.

Honestly I think most companies are no longer forgoing the PC for truly platform exclusive titles. Only recent big game that did this (well that I can think of) is Bloodborne. Most Sony and Microsoft “exclusives” are either timed or announced with a PC port.

Perhaps the big companies realize they PC is too different to consider it a competitor. Sony won’t be hurt by SFV being on PC

Got my Arkham Knight. After these download codes finish up I will be delivering a tall glass of freshly squeezed JUSTICE to the thugs of gotham. Yes…this tall glass has pulp in it.

But i hate the puuuuulp!!!

Console gaming is a very different beast than PC gaming.
People play consoles as they are plug and play, they are simple.
There no real set up for a console. Yeah modern consoles has that first initiation, set up your online account.
But Consoles are largely insert the cartridge , disk or card and go play.

PC allows for hundreds of customization, hardware customization, custom game mods and maps.
PC is largely where you want to go if you want to customize and experiment.
But PC you have to be more tech savy. You need to be able to fix issues. All that customization comes at a price.

This isn’t the 90’s.

PC gaming is as simple as download —> play. Can’t put together a PC yourself? Get someone to do it for you or buy an all-in-one. If it wasn’t as simple as it is, do you honestly think there’d be MILLIONS of people playing games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or League of Legends daily? You think the millions of people that played Diablo, Starcraft & the Warcraft series were “tech savvy?”

Fuck out of here. If you can create an online account or use a smart phone you can download and install a PC game. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen you make it seem like you need to be a fucking genius to play games on PC. You’re talking out of your ass because you clearly don’t know shit about the platform or else you wouldn’t be spewing such garbage.

Batman port is all fucked up!?

Guys… DMC WILL LIVE ON!!!

Whoah whoahhhh that link Sonichuman just posted…

^yeahhhh if this is a reality I just got aroused. If it were truly a NEW Prototype game…a part 3… I’d pass out like an old person that just caught a “holy ghost” moment in church.

*FINALLY Galak-Z this summer? Hell YES.

Never pc gamed before and I don’t plan to. Clarify for me, but it always seems like you need to have the exotic rig with the latest $3,000 graphics card (wow, smh) in order to play these games without any issues. Then the cycle repeats itself when the next hot game comes out for pc, which means another $3000 card for what, a minimal increase in frame rates? I know I’m exaggerating the graphics card prices (probably $1500 for the top ones), but it makes no sense to me. On another note, someone explain the keyboard/mouse>controller thing to me.

IIRC didn’t they only stop the Prototype franchise because the second game failed to reach some ludicrous sales figure which Activison was hoping for.
I’m not a fan of Prototype but I did feel that Activision fucked up royally when they basically buried it.

$1500? more like $200-$300 for graphic cards that can run everything current and in the future at 60 fps at max settings .

A whole PC build that runs everything and lasts you 4-6 years is around $700-$1100. If you want to get a cheaper build for less perfomance that’s fine, you have the option to. You replace parts whenever you feel like it, if you want to update your build every year or every 5 it’s up to you and when you do, there’s always a part that fits your budget and at any given time a part that gives the most bang for your buck.

Always a small handful of $300~ cards or even less at times that competes with what you see as a $1000~ graphic card. Hell I bought a GTX 760 latest NVIDIA line was GTX 900 series but they skipped the 800s for $100 flat a year ago. It’ll certainly still hold it’s own against the current gen/upcoming games at max settings/high settings just fine.

The “tinkering” is exactly what I don’t like about PC gaming… I realize that some people love that for whatever reason…probably the same types that back in previous generations loved to tinker around on their cars (e.g.–my grandfather was one of those guys back in the day). I don’t really care to tinker around or build anything… I just want to have fun with the games and that’s it. The PC Defense Squadron will always chime in with "All you have to do is…" but that’s the thing… I don’t want to do a goddamn thing. When I am at home, the last thing I want to do is anything that even resembles “work”. The extent of my effort in an ideal situation is the purchase of the game and the system…putting said game into the system and turning it on.

*and yeah, Prototype is another example of something that could’ve been a great franchise—but it was cursed by being attached to what most agree is a terrible company (Activision).

and i’m on that squad as well. I told a friend to pick the parts out for me, told another friend to build the pc for me, now i’m just loading up games whenever I feel like it and never able to catchup on my ever growing steam library.

The whole benefit to PC gaming is all the wide range of options that you can commit to. You can be a lazy fuck like me that lets everyone else do the work for me and still get all the benefits. Hell if you don’t have friends for whatever reason, you just go on a forum and tell them your budget, they’ll give you a list of parts to buy and you just hire someone for a small fee to build the shit for you.

There’s even good prebuilts that people can recommend if you don’t want to go through that little hassle.

Way I see it most console fanboys overestimate how much it costs/how difficult it is to build/run a gaming PC, while most PC fanboys underestimate it.
You can build a very good PC for extremely cheap (though still more expensive than consoles) if you’re willing to build it yourself and research the best parts, however a lot of people don’t want to put in the time and effort required to do so and go to consoles as a cheaper and easier alternative.
