Nintendo will stop being about quality and just be like everyone else making you pay just to make your character perform an action.
Iwata is the type of guy that thinks outside the box. That’s the kind of guy you want to be CEO of your company. God forbid if the guy who replaces him gives in to the idea of charging people to make Mario jump higher as one Nintendo investor tried to push.

Which is why I don’t get people wanting Nintendo to fall under and get acquired by sony or Microsoft. Nintendo is just different enough to at least provide an alternative to the other big 2. Nintendo makes things you didn’t know you wanted. Iwata is one of but a few guys out there that running a company that makes new different products over making more of the same or milking a current product you own with pointless add ons that add nothing worthwhile.
2 cents: Iwata shouldn’t be booted out of his seat just because one of the products the company has is making them take an operating loss for the first time for 3 years. Where were the people like Pachter (specifically calling him out because ever since the Wii U was announced he’s been talking shit about Iwata and how they need to fire him) When PS3 was performing like shit for like 4 years? I remember people talking about Sony needing to steer the ship correct but I don’t remember anybody calling for Kaz Hirai’s head during that period. Iwata’s batting average has been pretty solid for the company and now it’s like they just want to throw him under the bus even after all of the good decisions he’s made for the company. That’s probably the thing that’s annoying me the most about it, it feels like it’s open season on him without giving him the proper amount of chances and time to ‘fix it’.
Also talks of Nintendo going 3rd party are still dumb. Bringing this up again, just because the company is taking losses doesn’t suddenly completely wipe out the piles of profit that they’ve been making for the past 25+ years…on just about everything…that’s on top of the money surge that the Wii and DS gave to that pile for 6-7 of those years.

NSMBU passes 4 mill, Pokemon X and Y are at 12 mill +, and for the first time ever a 3D Mario title is actually beating out it’s 2D counterpart on the same console with 3D Land at 9.27 mill and NSMB2 at 7.82 mill. Also 3D world is sitting at 2.17 mill currently. Like I said earlier…it’s not about the numbers when they first come out for Nintendo’s first party, its the long run.

Of course he says he can’t go into detail but more will be revealed before the year is over. They also show off the Mario Kart TV app that they are bringing to smartphones. They also talk about the NFC project they have planned and will be talking more about it at E3. That NFC project…that has a really big chance of printing a lot of money if it’s done correctly…

LOL Nintendo financial “woes”… These niggas are about to make a shit ton of money this year- Mario Kart 8, SMASH BROS. on both 3DS and WiiU, at least two Zelda games, Bayo 2*(I admit this is wishful thinking on my part)*, and another Pokemon game that will sell 10+ million without even trying… and that’s not even taking into account whatever surprises they may be saving for E3.

Well the PlayStation division bleeding money for years on end was brought on by Ken Kutaragi not Kaz Hirai, Ken left in 2011 and passed the broom to Kaz to clean up the mess. Kaz (and Yoshida with WWS) are responsible for making the PlayStation division profitable again these past years, Kaz’s record isn’t that pretty either though because despite the PlayStation familia making money lately all the other unprofitable divisions continue to eat away at those profits like the ebola virus hence the new “restructuring” .
Iwata’s shortcomings are (or at least considered to be) more turbulent in the grand scheme of things, with that said I don’t see Iwata going anywhere because Nintendo’s board of Directors is full of close friends and allies some even hand picked by himself. Even if he did get booted (not likely) he’ll end up with a position on the board right next to Miyamoto.
He’s also the same guy who is making Nintendo currently receiving a brutal raping in the console war and public lashing from every gaming news outlet…he has failed this console generation and his ideas are going to kill Nintendo.
We need a new mind that can think good for business.
