- The Last Guardian
- Whore of the Orient
- New 3DS Mario that isn’t from the “new” series
- RE7 not giving the player a million melee moves, have very limited ammo, and actually be scary
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided not being a shitty mobile game,but a real PC game
- A new IP that gets me hyped

The GAMEPLAY in the video GAME is it’s weakest aspect. Thanks a lot for summing this up for all of us. Shenmue sucks. It’d be better off if it shed all of those weak excuses for “gameplay” and just went straight up interactive novel, like The Walking Dead. That game doesn’t even pretend to be a video game, and it works perfectly. It’s also a hard lesson in pacing that Sega wished it had learned when it released that piece of crap Shenmue.
Stop giving things passes just because they’re old. Tons of classic games hold up to the test of time, Shenmue doesn’t. Goldeneye was mentioned, another example. It just doesn’t hold up over time like real classics do. Mans out there STILL playing games like ST that, while imperfect, still hold up over time. You can think of a number of SNES/Genesis games that do the same I’m sure.

Speaking of interactive movies…I wish the shit you did actually AFFECTED the outcome and story.
I hate to see games claim that an alternate path or decisions you make affect the rest of the game but it fucking doesnt. It bothers me because its showing that devs want to streamline games and give everyone the exact same experience when good players should be rewarded more.
I also wish that more companies would have extras for people with save files of the previous titles on the hard drive, or preorder and download exclusives that arent available for everyone.
Well last year 2 franchises came back that I didn’t expect. KH3 and KI didn’t do make too much noise but I suspect some more nostalgic reveals like Battletoads, Starfox, Crash, Spyro, Syphonfilter. Last year’s most hype moment for me was Megaman in Smash and looking back at it was pretty dismal. One character reveal. I hope something big comes this year.

I mean why bring back Crash when theres a bigger fanbase for games like Jak n Daxter. Especially when you just know they arent going to go straight platforming…I’d expect Crash with a cool new haircut, muscles and a gun.

Heavenly Sword while not a stylish hack n slash like DMC and Bayo, was pretty fn, and had a cool setting, and Nariko and Kai are two of my fave leads coming out of last gen. Don’t hate son!
