Make it backwards capable and write off the WiiU as a interesting yet regrettable experience. In all honesty I wouldn’t mind a add-on console like the 32X that would amp the processing power to match the PS4…
If they released a hardware add-on and some cord that could allow you to play 3DS games on the WiiU in addition to a netflix subscription system for Nintendo games…they would have a better chance.
You can’t sustain a console by simply being a Nintendo delivery system. This isn’t 1992…you have consoles like the PS4 evolving the medium with beautiful next level games and xbone lowering their price.
Nintendo just can’t cut it as a hardware business anymore…I mean seriously their idea of improving shit is a quality of life gimmick.
Nintendo only needs to do one thing in order to make the WiiU print money and is release a mmorpg pokemon, fuck smash, pokemon is the real cash cow here.
I surely wouldn’t regret me buying a WiiU on july if on the long term they end releasing a mmorpg pokemon, hell it doesn’t need to be a mmorpg, just have an online battle mode with lobbies, and this comes from someone who wasn’t that into pokemon on the 90’s.
Ubisoft actually did put exclusive titles on the Wii U. It’s a shame that Zombi U bombed and lead them to delay Rayman Legends to port it to every console under the sun to recoup loses.
NO. YOU wouldn’t mind an add-on or them or releasing a new console but from a business perspective that would be the absolute quickest way for them to get put out the hardware business. You can’t seriously suggest that ANY company go down the same route that Sega did?
If Sony and/or Microsoft weren’t selling consoles and then 2 years after they just released a console they’d say ‘Oh! We got a new console coming out that’s far more powerful than the one you just spent $400-500 on!’, they’d lose face with consumers. The best course of action for them is to keep putting out great titles and ride the system out into the next generation.
That’s the thing- Nintendo is doing the only thing they CAN DO in this situation… Third-parties won’t support you/give you shovelware shit, your fanbase is full of morons who won’t buy shit if Link and Mario aren’t on the cover, regardless of quality, and you have phaggots like Sennin who take all their cues from tools like Geoff Keighley and Michael Pachter saying you should “get out of the hardware business”…
The only thing you can do is focus on the things you do better than anyone else- Quality software featuring some of the most beloved and recognizable characters of all time…
The only other option is to take your ball and go ho… Wait a second… Remember the 3DS? That thing that makes the Vita look like a worse WiiU? That’s right, there is absolutely NO REASON for you to quit as long as that thing continues to print money. Fuck a home console… they’re slowly dying out anyway, if the dearth of creativity and stupidly high budgets continues to gut every smaller development house from here to Kyoto.
C’mon son if anyone is being a phaggot it’s you. Now I’m the biggest WiiU supporter on this damn board but even I can call a code red when the situation is this obvious. On that note name me 1 factually incorrect statement from patcher and Geoff…none of your delusional appeals from emotion I mean good concrete counter arguments?
See the reason the WiiU is in this position is cause people like you refuse to acknowledge the reality of the situation.
Nintendo is in trouble from a 3rd party standpoint and it sucks it really does but there’s no way they’re leaving the hardware race so people need to stop saying that.
I’m going to throw this question out there to everyone. You are now the CEO of Nintendo and you’ve been put in this position that they’re currently facing now. Getting out of the hardware business is out of the question since that would kill the good will you have with most of your customers. What would you do based off of what you know of core gamers, casual gamers, and Nintendo’s own fanbase to right the ship?
Edit:
One of my answers would be to unfortunately cave in and put some type of Shooter with a Nintendo type twist to the roster of Nintendo’s IP. Kid Icarus could probably be an answer for this.
IMO the current Nintendo CEO needs to step down since this is his 3rd continuous year of lost profits. It isn’t impossible for the Nintendo to recover the WiiU is a failed experiment. The WiiU might have done some good if it was released in 2010 but it came too late to the party. I mean just as a reflection of the situation watch this video again explaining their current financial woes.
Turning around and the prone controls were a little wonky but overall I thought RE6 was very loose, I would say the control were more “slippery” than they were “clunky”
And I think its scary (no pun intended) that when RE4 came out it was too action oriented, and then when RE5 came out RE4 was “perfect” and now that RE6 is out people praise RE5 and I have to call BS on that because I literally remember how much hate that RE5 got when it came out for being too action, so RE6 is more action than that?
I think RE6 has suspense, there was a lot of “creeping up behind you” but when you are equipped with enough ammo to take down an army who cares…
I will say that I liked how enemies were bullet sponges in RE6, they would often eat several bullets and their attack animations wouldnt always stop for a few gunshots, however the shotgun was very weaksauce for a shotgun.
Also bring back the ammo crate from Resident Evil 5, that shit was awesome. I hate the HUD in 6, and theres no way to horde grenades which was my favorite thing to do in Resident Evil 5.
