Souls games are pretty tough. Not impossible but you will die, a lot. Hell I’ve been through Dark Souls 1 about 5 times in the last two months an I still die from time to time. Game punishes mistakes, usually with death. You make the wrong move and it’s probably back to the Bonfire with you. Sometimes the punishment is all your souls.
Even still tho the games mostly about knowledge and smart thinking.Take the Ring of Sacrifice for example. The description for it says that if you die while wearing the ring you respawn at the bonfire with all your souls and humanity and human form (If you where human at the time.) With a bit of critical thinking you realize this means it keeps your last current state as static so say you die and you have a blood stain out in the world with 100k Souls on it that you’re not willing to lose, you can pop on the Ring of Sacrifice and should you die again for some reason you wont lose that blood stain and can make another run for your Souls. Or do stuff like use a Homeward Bone in a boss fight to bail on the boss without losing your Souls/Humanity.
You can also do things like Summon other players or NPCs into boss fights for help. Solaire and Lautrec can kill the Bell Gargoyles boss fight all by themselves. This doesn’t always work tho, while they pwn the Bell Gargoyles for free, the Gaping Dragon will eat them for lunch so summoning them may be detrimental as Summons make Boss Health Bars larger, thus making the fight harder for you should they die. Same logic applies to player Summons. There’s also the trade off that being Human lets you summon NPCs/Other players your at a risk of being invaded by other players and fighting them is completely different from fighting the A.I. enemies but the penalty for death is still the same. A loss of Souls/Humanity and a trip back to the Bonfire.
Upgrading Gear can have a bigger effect on your survivability then lvling up traditionally, but Lvling still has it’s place due to requirements and scaling stats with gear along with traditional stats like Str and Dex, and the Equip Load/Stamina stat can be really really important depending on the build.
Games tough and lives up to it’s tough reputation because it pulls no punches, but seeing that it’s a well build game knowledge is king and knowing what to do will turn the tide for in a really big way thus lowering the difficulty considerably.
A grade above most modern games sure but it’s nothing I haven’t dealt with before at 10 times the frustration level with older games. When I played it I was like"yeah it’s harder then uncharted(the last game I played before trying it)but c’mon only weaksauce pussies would legitimately complain."
It’s more challenging then your average modern game for sure…but a hard game it is not IMO.
Well duh i just broke down how to make the game not hard. Come on now. Anyone with time in to the game will also tell youits not that hard and that there are dozens of ways to make it easier
You’re right, I got confused caused you called me a pedo then tried to explain why Catherine was semi ok for me to play. thanks mom
Now all of a sudden you dont remember the game, but you did in the ps thread saying it was that agarest game, when it was atelier. jesus christ you’re such a fuckin female
Yu Gi Oh games are always hard Forbidden Memories especially mainly because its damn near impossible to get good cards with out cheat codes and the CPU cheats.
Candy Crush if your trying to get through this game with out paying up prepare to get godlike
this applies to most F2P mobile games
Fire Emblem as well as X-Com SRPG’s in general tend to have really good AI from my experience
EDIT: the Beta, Jack, and Geo love triangle is so real
Fire Emblem 5 (Otherwise known as Thracia 776). Prepare your anus. You think you’ve used weak characters before. Leaf takes the fucking cake. And since he’s the main character you have to use him. Jesus Fucking Christ. He makes me want to punt my laptop through the fucking window
Then any Fire Emblem with Lunatic+ mode. Don’t do it. :shake:
Next would be Xcom on Impossible. Don’t do it. Pls.
So the only games that can be consistently hard according to you guys are those with random elements. I asked the question because IMO no game has consistent difficulty due to the inherent ability to play it more than once like anything games get easier the more experience you have so for anyone to complain about a game not being hard only after playing it a lot is silly.
Dammit I was sucked into sennin’s shitty scrubjutsu too.
Games like Beat Hazard have endless patterns for the difficulty and music that you pick. There’s no guarantee that a song can be beaten on the higher difficulties as the game just throws more things at you, and improvises all the levels.
Still, it can get pretty intense to race through a song or die trying on Suicidal difficulty.
That’s mostly what we have been saying and anyone who is really into the series will also say.
With that said I remember those early posts of yours raging about the difficulty, or over all shitty situations the game puts you in. I remember mine as well
Ofcourse Souls is going to be considered really difficult in this day and age where all games hold your hand and
walk you thru the game from start to finish. Souls isn’t difficult , it just demands strategical thinking along with you paying attention
to your surroundings , which atleast for me is part of why i love the series so much. Its difficulty depends on your ability
to process the “information” you are given.
The last game i can remember that was difficult for the sake of being difficult was like Ninja Gaiden 2.
Troll Rule #1: (Good) Trolls don’t admit to trolling at the slightest sign of being put on blast.
About my avatar… It’s Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho, not a “DBZ fan character,” and it wasn’t done in MS Paint. Attacking an avatar is, by far, the weakest thing you can do, especially when you yourself are using a default one. Try harder.
