Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

So i am finally gonna continue the story of Xenoblade now that my Wii is fixed. the last time the game crashed on me i lvled four times and didn’t save so its back to the grind.

Seems like everyone forgot already:

Way I see it, Microsoft’s price drop of the Xbox One would only benefit everyone, even the Xbox haters.

People who want Xbox One now have a opportunity to buy that console even cheaper
and it only make sense if Sony stepped up their game with PS4 promotion, for if nothing else to remain competitive.

I not saying they going to necessarily drop the price of the PS4, perhaps make an additional bundle or bonus items to sweeten their product up.
Pack-in games, Free Download Games, extra controller for free, who knows.

If you are never going to get the Xbox One, how is a price drop mean anything (PS4 still has the lead in sales in the US and internationally)

@XthAtGAm3RGuYX‌ You know I haven’t been a PC gamer for around a decade, right? I’d sooner buy an XBox One than a new rig.

I see your view point,

People don’t understand that a new PC rig, even a budget build is still quite the investment both monetarily and time wise.

That the benefit of consoles, you don’t have to screw around with hardware or software to play the newest games.
PC if you want to stay high-end, you are looking at upgrades every 3 to 6 months. Forget dropping $300 for a new video card, some people drop $1,000 for a new card. Fuck That.

Oh. The phrase “console jelly” made it seem like you havent really been fucking around with consoles too much

Man I gotta finisht tha too. I didn’t utilize my off time to finish it. That game is just so damn grand and large that its exhausing to play lol

No. You misinformed bastard.

You can put together a “budget rig” that’s the cost of an Xbox One and still outperform multi-platform games that are on PS3/360/PS4/Xbone. Software cost on PC is also way cheaper than the cost of console games(because of the lack of licensing fees. Open platform and all) as well as the fact online play is free(the last console with free online not a Wii U), the hardware is more reliable and you can go above and beyond 1080p(if you care) as well as 30-60 FPS limitations(if you care.)

Console gaming is great. PC gaming is great. PC is one of the best platforms out there and to limit yourself to any specific platform(s) is a dumb decision. The shit you’re talking about might have been an issue in the past(and I’m talking 15-20+ years ago here) but it sure as hell isn’t now. In '01 I put together a rig that lasted me until 2012 or so(because that’s when it died) and it could play anything from Quake 3 to Unreal Tournament 3. That same year I put together a budget rig(with a beast motherboard so I can upgrade easily in the future if I choose to) and it still slams any multi-platform game I toss at it with better performance & graphics than games on PS3/360/PS4/Xbone at the same cost.

A $500 PC > an Xbone at the same price, especially when you factor in the lack of online fees and way cheaper software.

Really, make a build list with parts currently found on the market under $500 that matches Simular to the specs of the PS4 and Xbox one . (“Similar to” as nether Sony no Microsoft used the standard off-the-shelf AMD APU, they both used custom versions of the FX APU).

I also feel going the Linux route is cheating but for the sake of arguments lets not factor the cost of the OS.

The average person STILL can’t put a PC together, unless they are actually interested in doing so. Console is still the easiest option.

A lot of console games that are being ported to PC are being hard locked with their specs as well. For mods and hack you are still reliant on charity work from other PC gamers. MG:R doesn’t go past 1080p/'60fps, The Evil Within is fucked six ways from sideways on the performance side, and lolUbisoft and EA are hard locking their shit as well.

Truth of the matter Consoles and PC has there Pros and cons.

PC requires some time for set up as well as a degree of technical knowledge and skill from the user
Anyone can use a console, find the On button or power switch.

PC has the promise of better performance if you are willing to invest the time and money.
Consoles specs are quite static which is both a Pro and con.

Yes the hardware stops there and quickly becomes dated, but all users of the Xbox One have the same specs so developers know what to program for, same for the PS4. PC market is fragmented, developers have to test for a wide range of various hardware and software configurations and hope they cover enough of there bases to have a product that works with 95% of their customers at launch.

Shooters (FPS) are much better with Keyboard and mouse than with a dual analog stick game pad. At big tournaments look who playing on a game pad on a PC FPS? No one.

Both PC and with the nest gen of consoles using x86 architecture, there some 35 years of documentation when it comes to programming. Programming wise not too much has changed since the original Intel 8086 cira
1980.

Also we haven’t heard much about the steam box haven’t we.

There is millions of customization options with the PC, provided you aren’t a filthy mac user.

10 min of REmake HD footage

http://youtu.be/NLjsccQvDcU

Why would anyone want to play RE using the new DMC-style controls? You can see how many times the Jill player has to stop between camera transitions to let the analog controls reset, lest they run into a wall or be forced to do a mini U-turn. Absolutely hated that shit in DMC.

I can’t quote because mobile, but EVERYONE in this thread should buy Valkyria Chronicles on PC when it comes out. This was one of Sega’s best games last gen, and it’s best new IP.

Support good games and get it, please. Give dumbfuck Sega a reason to finally make a console sequel.

I still gotta finish VC.

And for you PC niggas. you gotta understand not everybody wants to go build all that shit just for better graphics and cheaper games. It’s almost consoles are just the most conveninent. I got a ps2? A game came out for ps2? I can go buy that game and pop it right in, without worrying about specs and if my Ps2 is strong enough and etc.

But atleast I don’t see any PC elitism on here. Because goodness I see it on other sites and it comes off less as “when you break it down PC is better” and more like "lol yall play on consoles. My PC got shinier graphics lmao!’

Most PC gamers here aren’t elitist about it, because we aren’t NEET’s. I can’t speak for all of SRK’s PC gamers, but I’m sure most of us built a PC for productive purposes instead of an over-sized gaming machine.

I think the entire of point of PC gaming (in contemporary times) is customization/experimentation. High res textures and adderal-pace frame rates are just the icing on the cake; it’s all about modding at the end of te day. Just imagine if Bayonetta and Vanquish came to the PC; too ham to handle.

That being said, I’ll still buy consoles when a new generation arrives… I’ll just wait until they drop in price, is all. But my biggest question is why even have the Xbox in the race? The Xbox is a brand that exclusively appeals towards “Americans”, and by “Americans” I actually mean dumbass jingoist crackers with a disposable income. Look at the rest of the world, they would rather fux with Playstation than the Xbox; it’s been proven in the UK, EU, AUS, JPN, KR, SE Asia, KSA, RU, and anywhere else consoles are sold.

There’s a LOOOOOT of dumb motherfuckers with money to burn in this country… Why do you think Madden, CoD, and Ass Creed sell so much?

DmC made the majority of its sales in this dumbfuck country as well…

Still don’t get the Ass Creed hate

Madden and CoD are kind of a given; tossing the ol’ pigskin around + shooting brown people and/or people who aren’t American = U.S. of A. past times. Don’t know why Ass Creed is a top seller here; maybe it’s the unskippable cutscenes and auto-pilot platforming?

That’s the rest of the internet. While it is true that PC gaming will always and forever be better than console gaming, you’re absolutely right to say that consoles are more convenient. You’re also right to say that not everyone wants to build a PC. A lot of people are just fine buying one (hell, my laptop was a gift, and I have zero clue how to build, so I’m just fine with non-customized computers).

@XthAtGAm3RGuYX‌ Ohh, I gotcha. Like that sounds like something someone without a new console would say. Like a PC gamer, who could thusly still get TF.
