Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

For people who played Valkyria Chronicles does the game legit get harder? The desert battle against the tank was ridiculous the first time. And im on the mission where you gotta stop the armored car from escaping.

I been trying to power grind. My scouts are level 11 and my sbocktroopers are almost there. But I feel some of these missions will leave little to no error later on.

Just thinking of when I beat FE: Path of Radiance there was some bs levels but I pushed through

Wasn’t expecting Batman to get pushed back that far

Release date is now June 2nd and some collector’s editions have been announced. The Batmobile edition and the limited edition. Interesting date really…considering that E3 will probably take place just after it gets put out.

Damn…was hoping for a Feb release. I wonder why they pushed it back so far? Might cop the BM edition.

I don’t mind the pushback date. Rocksteady will ensure their game won’t be the broken rush job that Origins was.

@drwill439 I got Destiny paid off but I’m not doing the midnight release shit. Don’t get too far ahead of me tonight punk

I have work tomorrow, but I’m still going to get my copy tonight. I won’t be ahead of anyone, especially my partially employed/unemployed friends.

Finally

The new Shantae, not to be confused with the new new Shantae, seems to be coming really soon.

I hope everyone who plans on buying it has bought the first two Shantae games on the eshop.

Also Destiny is having a review embargo since it’s meant to be played with other people online:

For a game that’s meant to be multiplayer with solo experience on the backburner, I can understand that.

Day-one network issues impacting gameplay is the only plausible case where I could see universal criticism coming from the usual suspects, anyways. Even if you disregard the (albeit cynical) notion that the dev/pub involved instantly make the game an industry darling, it was already very well received by means of the beta.

I’d expect very little surprises in the gold master that could meaningfully impact positive scores.

^This, I’m actually overjoyed to hear that they’re delaying it for this very reason, the exact same thing happened earlier with Arkham City with the game being delayed far enough that the entire game could be played from start to finish over a year before it releaseed, giving them tons of time to fix and refine the game before releasing it.

I’m really happy that Bungie/Activision are offering Australian based servers for Destiny, too many damn games I’m stuck playing on Asian servers making with a god awful connection.
I won’t be able to pick it up at launch due to not owning a PS4/Xbone but I may pick it up down the line if it turns out to be really good.

Capcom will be moving RE5 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Records over to Steamworks

Don’t fuck it up like Street Fighter. Show Lost Planet Colonies and SFxT some Steamworks love.

You can cop Destiny on PS3 and 360. I believe if you buy digital for either platform you get the next gen upgrade for free.

I was considering getting it on last gen but there’s already an influx of games being released in the last few months of this year and early 2015 that I know that I want to buy + a Wii-U.
In addition seeing the difference between the versions really threw off my interest , the poly-count looks pretty much identical but the textures and lighting look massively worse on last gen systems. I really wish they would release it on PC at some point in the future so I could play it with Mouse/Keyboard, at a higher resolution/maximum settings and a high frame-rate but knowing Activision this is incredibly unlikely.

Didn’t know about the free upgrade though, that’s a really nice incentive for people to buy the last gen version.

Oh, nice. I own Re5 on PC, so it’ll be nice to play it on Steam.

I don’t remember seeing this posted but Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is getting a collector’s edition stateside and quantities will be limited

I’m not sure how I feel about this to be honest, on the one hand the concept art for Samus is really weird and extremely stylised compared to pretty much every Metroid game ever released, on the other hand Next Level also made Mario Strikers Charged and Punch Out which had fantastic, unique styles and presentation (Punch Out more so since the gameplay looked closer to the concept art) and it was super early so it could have changes maybe it would end up looking really good.

Also on one hand we got Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon instead which is a sequel to a game that came out a long time beforehand, really deserved a sequel and came out great on the other hand we have to keep waiting for a new Metroid and we’ll never know how it would have turned out.

Next Level’s games have been great so far, and Punch Out Wii is fantastic. Wouldn’t mind a new Metroid by them at all.
