I’m still waiting on my Regular Show beatemup. Perfect show with tons of characters and villains to pull that off. As much fighting as that show has it would be an absolute shame not to see that happen.

Nice to see all that processing power going towards more shadows and realistic hair… That stuff really makes these games more innovative and fun to play over the exact same games I’ve been playing already!

Dude these are only Ports from PS3 to PS4 used to show the already existing differences on a console that hasn’t been out for a full year yet.
And I used videos of PS3 to PS4 ports as you can see easily the side by side comparisons. It would not be a fair comparison if I compared Titan Fall to Halo 3.

The first two are pretty big for comparisons. The others…not so much, although MGS will have better performance.
Well, I would agree with you on some level, like Zelda games.
Sure OoT looks like poop, but does the latest incarnation of OoT play better? (With any wiimotion no, but that’s another topic)
But a lot of people enjoy video games like an interactive story, and the graphics help the immersion and help make the world feel real.
Like this is kind of a weak comparison but plastic army men are bright colours, if visual representations weren’t important to people why would GIjoes (you could get what 300 plastic soldiers for the price of one gijoe?) become popular?
Also I play a lot of non-video games so I can agree that you don’t need flair to have fun, but one of those comparisons is MGS.
MGS has evolved a lot in terms of gameplay and has become much more fun to play (at least to shoot people), also the plot and characters are really important so having them extremely visually detailed is super cool since it lets kojima add in lots of character markers.
Remember in MGS1 everyone had shadows instead of eyes, now they have actual eyes.

A Link Between Worlds is the freshest take they’ve had yet, and some people STILL bitched.
This is a very weak comparison, because GI Joes have more articulation and moving parts than standard Army Men, i.e. they PLAY DIFFERENTLY from plastic Army Men in addition to looking better.
I’ll give you MGS in the innovation department. However, the characters having eyes aren’t what makes each game its own experience gameplay wise.

Well Sony only dropped PS2 support like a year or 2 ago (Also Nintendo made the original Famicom till 2003).
Some of the late arrivals to a console are some of the best of that console gen.
Blocky characters, flat uninteresting textures, jagged edges did plague PS2 and OG Xbox Games. Yes, it does not help my argument that the modern FPS game has such shitty limited color pallets, various shades of brown and grey.
Yes I know Graphics is not everything, and I am not usually make the argument on graphics as I like to hold such things as game play, story, reply value and controls more valuable than graphics.
But with in only 10 months of these consoles being out you have to admit the PS4 and Xbox One outperforms the PS3 and XBox 360.
Well the plot to MGS certainly hasn’t evolved, and the gameplay hasn’t innovated much since MGS1, more there have been some new approaches to the old standard boss battles
Yet the franchise becomes more and more popular with every major installment.
The graphics really did open up a lot of gameplay too, like the laughing octopus fight in MGS4 would’ve been way worse back in MGS1
@Darksakul I was more being a bit mean by pointing out that consoles don’t really become obsolete, I mean sure some editions of games become obsolete when they get an HD remix, but you’re on SRK (I don’t need to tell you this, I realize that) many people still hug their dreamcasts to sleep and play fighting games on it weekly.
I will admit that when games get ported to the next console the previous console does die a bit (like I haven’t touched my PS2 in forever and ever, because a lot of the stuff I want to play is on my ps3), especially if the remake is good (rip silent hill HD)
I mean it’s a touchy subject, but I can’t imagine any gamer NOT getting an xbone or a ps4.
Like Next Gen doesn’t feel like a choice, you’re going to buy one or the other (or play pc games I guess, but you’ll miss a lot of exclusives that are worth playing imo).
Like you can complain about upgraded graphics being a waste of resources but consoles NEED graphics to survive. Without graphics you get iphone games, a market which is killed by phones and tablets. Furthermore gameplay is better than no gameplay, so if you just don’t play new games because they look prettier, what do you play?
