It’s just PR. They lost the bulk of the casual market to mobile, so now they’re “shifting focus” back to the core audience. MS is doing the same thing.

Of course Miyamoto is going to say that, lol. That’s all they have left. I agree about branching out like the Wii strategy, but you need to balance it out, like MS and Sony have been doing (well mostly MS).
I see people say “prove it by making a new F-Zero”, but Sega topped that series off. Miyamoto and EAD aren’t going to match that, let alone come close.
Then port the Sega one. Nintendo ain’t above doing HD remasters.
Can’t lie, it’s PR I like the sound of. Same with MS, all the changes they have made to the One and the shift in focus they seem to undergoing makes me interested in a One where as when it was announced I couldn’t have cared less for one. Now I always wanted a Wii-U but still this kind of talk makes me happy for things to come in the future, and perhaps nintendo will continue to support things like Bayonetta 2 and the like. It’s PR talk but it’s good PR talk imo.

I’m guessing that’s what Sakurai was saying to competitive Smash players with Brawl.
