Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

It’s like the Souls Series isn’t deceptively accessible either or anything, I mean shit DSII has Bonfires out the fuckin ass.

This generation has never had to learn how to observe patterns and pay attention to context clues… Of course Souls was gonna rip them a new one.

Shit ain’t new, but if you’ve never seen it, it’s new to you.

A reminder:

I’m just curious . I know they had the same library for about 90% of the time, but with all the “This game is teh hard!!1!” posts I see about it and have heard in person, you would think these are the only hard games on the system.

Blame the fanbase, not me.

I’m a huge supporter of platform exclusive games because they drive compeition and as. Esult usually end up being among the best games in said console’s library. Also angry Joe and you SRK’ers who bitched about Bayonetta 2 being Wii U exclusive are retarded because in that game’s unique case it wasn’t going to get made at all without Nintendo so a Wii U Bayonetta 2 is better than none at all. That being said fans of the first Tomb Raider have all the right in the world to be pissed that is a really dick move by Squeenix unless it’s a timed exclusive which it wouldn’t be something to get upset about. I can’t imagine how much I’d rage if a sequel to a multiplatform game I loved went exclusive to a console I didn’t own.

The deliciously ironic part is that you most likely haven’t seen gunplay like that in a game and if you have please tell me the name, you were too busy hating on the fact that its a third person shooter to notice the demo clearly shows time and environment based mechanics that are pretty fresh. By your own logic, Bayonetta isn’t original because it’s a ripoff God of War I mean both games are in third person and have Melee combat so they’re exactly the same right?

Check and mate :coffee:

Oh my…someone has never played a Remedy game…I’m sorry, that explains a lot.

That certainly is an interesting thought, but the flaw with it is that Squeenix admitted that the reboot cost so much because it was building all of the tech and assets from scratch and that the sequels would cost significantly less because they would reuse some of them and build on the foundation from the original. The high cost of the reboot was mainly to reduce the costs of sequels in the long run, so it’s highly unlikely they needed or wanted MS’s help with development cost specially if you look at how much money Squeenix has in reserves. Or the fact that if MS did help with development they would then take a cut of the sales which both parties know will be bigger than the reboot due to word of mouth and exposure.

Don’t forget that Amy Hennig jumped ship from Naughty Dog to become lead director for Visceral Games new Star Wars game :looney:

Is there anyone in here who is not hyped for Bloodborne, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, and Far Cry 4? They just look better and more fun each time we get any info, that is how you get us excited for a game looks at Acitvision and EA with death gaze.

Until Dawn looks like Evil Dead: The Game…I can dig it.

I’ve been following Rime since before the PS4 was announced, I expect it to be the next Ico

Blood Borne looks amazing, and Middle Earth looks cool, but Far Cry I’m meh on. I’ve never played a Far Cry tho, so i don’t really have a reason to be hype for it.

Blood Borne mutha fuckas are you ready?

Also this post really hit the nail on the head for me why The Order 1886 looks disappointing:

Did you watch the video on the last page? If that looks meh to you then I’m curious what single player FPS gets you excited.

And no I’m not ready for Bloodborne, still haven’t bought DS2 yet and won’t get a PS4 till next year lol, but yes it definitely stands out as the most impressive big budget game announced so far, with the exception of possibly The Evil Within.

Silent Hill demo is psychologically scarring.

I am now 100% sure this game will be godlike.

Nevermind the moron playing, at points in this short demo the shit looks like real life. Like, really real.

Huge leap for wrestling games.

Like I said before about an Easy Mode in a Souls game:

-make boss weapons unavailable
-disable achievements/trophies
-do not tell the story, in any way possible
-change “you died” to “you suck”
-make the pop-up messages condescending when it displays gameplay hints
-have the NPC’s belittle you
-any items, weapons, armors, upgrade materials will not be carried over into the normal mode playthrough
-PVP shall be inaccessible

Other than that, From Software can make the necessary choices for a “streamlined” Souls-esque experience.

I don’t see how the last bit is a punishment. A good chuck of the community avoids PvP and hates being invaded. They online for jolly cooperation, player messages (which should be disabled for an easy mode) and ghosts. I alt+F4 a nigga for invading me.

Man you already know what single player FPS games get me excited lol. Naw I haven’t watched the video yet. If it’s anything like the E3 trailer which left me sawing logs then I have to wonder what single player FPS games get you excited.

If there’s footage in there of what playing the game will be like then I’ll check it out, but if it’s just another one of those “Dudes talkin at the camera while being weird in some way” trailer like Far Cry seems to have so much then count me out thanks.

this one had me rolling. high 5 manegguz !

Spoiler

PENIS :wasted:

@crotchpuncha‌ yeah watch that video I’m sure you’ll love it like I did.

Anyways I’m going to go back to playing Unreal Tournament 4 pre alpha online.

Watched it and it looks neat. Still not super hype for it or anything, but it looks cool.

I wish they would leave the silent hill franchise alone…it’s been so brutally raped after team silent left that I honesty just wish they would leave the poor guy alone.

I think SH should be left alone as well, but from what I’ve heard of P.T its pretty good, and if the new Silent Hill(s) is anything like it it might be the first good SH game in like 10 years.

Oh yeah, with that SH trailer still fresh on topic, anybody else think Silent Hill looks like it’s running on the FOX engine from MGS5?

I’m thinking about giving Silent Hill 3 another shot. SH and SH2 were so godlike I didn’t need anything after 2, but I’m going out on a limb and trusting it picks up like it was mentioned here before.
