Probably because, at least based on the beta, a lot of missions are pretty straight forward and having teammates just gives you more firepower and support. It’s not quite an MMO and not quite a single player FPS RPG. It’s a lot of things but yeah a connection to the internet is necessary. Having people run around on the same map as you doing their own thing gives the game a unique feel. If you have internet access don’t skip out on the game because of these design decisions. It’s an online game and sold as such.
It’s just kind of disappointing. Unless it’s a straight up MMO, I like not having to worry about whether or not I can play my game regardless of whether or not I have internet. It was to my understanding that they were selling this game off as an RPG shooter expirience involving both single player and cooperative play. I was looking forward to playing with friends as well as playing on my own. Maybe I want to play the single player at some point BECAUSE I don’t have internet, but that’s not an option in this game and that just seems kind of silly to me. There isn’t any reason you should be completely locked out from a game you bought just because you don’t always have internet acess. It’s not like it’s even a full fledged MMO with a subscription service. It’s a shooter/exploration/RPG game and none of those aspects should require mandatory use of an internet connection. If you can play by yourself anyway, it shouldn’t even matter.
I’m pretty glad Smite is getting a console release even if it’s “excluisve” to the bone. Really great game and it’ll be good for them to expand into a relatively untapped market. Should definitely draw in new players.

I tried it on pc and I felt weird playing a 3rd person MOBA. It was cool, but I wasn’t hooked. I’d try it again, though.
Another game that’s free on 360 (not sure about Xbone) is Airmech Arena, another game that I tried on pc. It’s more Starcraft than DotA, as it isn’t a MOBA. It feels better with a controller, and it’s sorta Halo Wars-esque.
They never marketed it as a single-player experience. I think you should still try it, unless you don’t have reliable internet access. The beta was pretty sound, and it was obvious that the game was an MMO after playing. Every MMO I’ve encountered never forced me to have friends to play with, but they’ve always been online only.
Considering how well the reboot cumulatively sold, a truly exclusive (not timed, not also on PC) Tomb Raider sequel is pretty big & a genuine surprise.
Guess that means more people to come aboard the Temple of Osiris hype train
To be completely honest, I never played a Silent Hill. I was a pussy ass bitch when I was little so I didnt play them then. By the time I felt like playing horror stuff of my own accord, the camera angle shit and how clunky some of the controls looked scared me away. The recent ones just kinda looked like hot garbage across the board. But I’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.
inb4 people complain that Silent Hill development will interfere with Phantom Pain.
PP is almost done I’m sure. I expect a Spring-Fall release in 2015. If Kojima workers want to stay fed they gotta keep working. Gets rid of the downtime between projects if people move right on to the next one.
Seriously FUCK YOU SQUARE, FUCK YOU. As someone who bought Tomb Raider on 3 different systems because I liked the game that much, this is some fucking bullshit.
Another M$ powermove taking another shot at franchises that made Sony known during the PS1 era. First FF, then Tekken, then MGS, and now Tomb Raider. I’d be unsurprised and pissed if Bushido Blade 3 came out exclusively to Xbone.
Oh yeah after Silent Hill, it would be cool if Kojima did something with Snatcher. Never played the original games but the Jamais Vu mission in Ground Zeroes gave me a creepy feel. I liked it. Make it happen again Kojima.
Never played Silent Hill, but Kojima, Del Toro, and Reedus working together can result in only greatness.
Anyways the debut footage of Quantum Break from Gamescom, and clearly Remedy is sticking to the formula that makes them one of the greatest developers ever; fun and fast paced third person shooting, a very thick and well realized atmosphere, an intriguing premise, and introducing a new fresh game mechanic and milking it for all it’s worth. It looks amazing and I’m pretty sure it’s coming to PC eventually so no need to buy an Xbone.
Po, not to sound mean or anything, but can you please drop this shit. It serves no purpose and it gets f’n annoying see you go ape shit over shit. Just keep it to yourself, please.
Edit: But seriously, does posting this do anything for you?
