I bet 32 and 64 player caps would have blew your mind back then. Shit, most console FPS games still don’t hit that amount of players. Did you know games like Battlefield 3 have 64 players on PC VS 24 on console? Yeah, shit’s crazy. Thankfully BF4 has 64 players on Xbox One and PS4, but that game doesn’t even work online, so fuck. :shake:

Btw, I’m well aware of PC gaming. My uncle was the huge PC nerd that introduce me to games like Quake 1, Decent, Earth Seige(?) and Mech Warrior 2 back when I was kid. From your list I’ve only played UT 99/2004 and Counter Strike.

The problem with RE6 is the problem with Sonic the Hedgehog games pre-Colors/Generations. Only a third of the game is any good. Well, maybe a half.
Leon and Ada’s campaigns were fine, I enjoyed them. I would’ve been perfectly okay with spending an entire game on those. Jake’s was…okay. Chris’ was bad, no doubt about it.
What ruined 6 for me was…it felt WAY too much like they were essentially beta testing 3 RE game styles and letting people decide what they liked better. If they focused the entire game on Leon/Ada gameplay it would’ve definitely been a solid game.
It isn’t like RE has had a huge fall from grace either. Like I said, parts of RE6 were fine and the biggest issue was that the entire game wasn’t based around what worked. And Revelations showed they can still get the job done. As long as Capcom learned from RE6 that people wanted the Leon gameplay the most then I won’t be worried in the least.
But I try to defend every game as much as I can. I do not like shitting on games unless I have to. Hell, I don’t even shit on DmC, just Ninja Theory themselves. But RE6 just felt hollow to me which is a shame. But again, there are certain parts of the game that did work and if Capcom focuses on those for the future they will be in decent shape.
