Of course they’re gonna talk about graphics for the remastered GOTY versions of these games, their pitch for the original game has already hit all the people who bought the original versions. They have nothing new to sell but the graphics, so people who played the game already are gonna tell their friends with the next gen consoles about how awesome the game is, and how this version is gonna look boss as fuck. This is gonna prompt a bunch of people to buy, either for the first time or for the second.
haha, GT is ripping Sacred 3 a new anus here http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/en3j6r/sacred-3-report--sacred-3
…fuckin hilarious, man… I didn’t even know of the game’s existence until a few days ago when it was already out, and woooo boy… the more info I found out about this game, the further down the toilet my hopes for it sank. If there was a Mystery Science Theater 3000-equivalent for games, this would be perfect material for such a show. You MUST hear the ridiculous voice-overs for yourself… it is comedy gold, but in a bad, almost embarrassing way. This might just be the Manos: The Hands of Fate of modern RPGs, folks.
Visually, it actually looks great to me… but it’s like they managed to take a wrong turn on just about every other aspect of the game.
Oh hell yeah… LP2 was one of the most fun co-op experiences of the 360/PS3 era, imo… I would understand it being a bit lackluster in single player, but if you have people to play through with it is a “non-stop thrill ride” as movie critics would say… in fact, it’s like you guys are the star of a big budget summer action movie of the 90s…“rag-tag gang of misfits spout one-liners and look incredibly badass while saving the world from a hostile alien threat”-movie kind of thing, basically.
*and it has zipline grapple-hook action, man. You can’t go wrong with that. You can grapple to the ceilings, walls, a mech your buddy is piloting for added firepower, grapple those item box things to snatch them over to you, etc… Any game that features that automatically gets my attention.
It’s only for saved broadcasts/highlights at the moment and not live ones, but how long before it is applied to live broadcasts. And including in-game music too? Holy shit.
Hope those still thinking the google twitch buyout being a rumor can see the light now.
LOL@companies like EA and Google getting named worst companies in America. I’m sure the private health insurance, big pharma and Banks are real glad gamers can get so upset over their video games that they will try to distract the rest of the world from the real problems that fuck over people’s lives.
This is on the music industry and copyright laws like the DMCA. Not Google. Twitch got too big and now they’re trying to cover their own ass from lawsuits. This was inevitable when streaming went from some average joe playing a game and talking into a mic to everyone attempting to monetize off of it. Every stream I see now is Please follow! Please donate! Please subscribe!
Everyone wants a piece of the pie. No one wants to work hard for money today. I don’t stream nor do I watch any but I will say that audio copyright BS is going too far. I myself am probably one flag away from getting my account locked from YouTube. All because my 6 year old vids are full of music that companies want you to pay to hear.
You guys need to grow a pair of balls and realize that the content ID stuff isn’t google’s fault. If IP laws wasn’t balls retarded they wouldn’t have to worry about getting sued over small bullshit. They legally have to snuff out, they don’t want to, but they have to do so or face legal action.
Remember the days full of fun times with the Warner Music Group fucking up videos left and right; this is the slippery slope they created.
yeah, the false positives and in game music shit is gonna suck, but its only vod’s and who watches vod’s? import that shit to youtube, and the audio returns, and youtube won’t flag/mute your shit unless you are trying to monetize on it.
it for the content creators protection. chances that a copywrite holder will come across their music on a live stream is almost nil. chances they scan archives and get papers drawn up is more likely. it will be rough for a while, and twitch isn’t exactly blameless, but people are acting fucking weird about something that’s realistically pretty minor.
Tons of people watch highlights and that is also effected. If it was just full past broadcast stuff sure there’d be less outrage.
I’m mostly worried they’ll eventually use this for livestreaming like they did with youtube livestreaming, and the false positive shit that they slowly address is going to kill everything.
Right now, even all videos of that indie game Crypt of the NecroDancer are being muted, and the creators didn’t even have that music in the copyright system. Same with all DOOM videos.
I hope they are quick to address false positives, because that is some wack ass shit.
Pertho is right, but it seems the only way to combat shit nowadays is to keep moving to smaller sites until they grow too big, which isn’t their fault.
EB Games Expo revealed the game sthey will have playable on the showfloor oct. 3-5
Apparently someone is upset enough over Killzone Shadowfall not being 1080p that he’s suing Sony for it
Edit: Man I need my computer back. I’M TOO SLOOOOWWWW!!!
Interestingly enough the same lawfirm that sued Sega and Gearbox for Colonial Marines is also doing this one.
Bandai Namco’s Q1 report
They’re doing fine as of the moment on just handheld releases in Japan alone.
Square Enix Q1 report
Seems Squeenix is doing well enough to the point that they raised their forecasts. Even though Murdered: Soul Suspect bombed, Final Fantasy XIV and mobile is giving them profit.
Activision Blizzard Earnings report
Despite WoW subscriptions dropping there are 1.5 mill preorders on Warlords of Draenor. Seems that most of the money is still coming from the Blizzard side of the company. They beat their estimate for the quarter by 60 mill and are banking pretty heavily on Destiny, Skylanders, and CoD. Expecting Destiny to be ‘the largest launch for a new IP in video game history’.
NBA 2k14 ships 7 mill copies, now best selling sports title from Take Two
GTA 5 sells over 34 Mill copies
Diablo 3 will now support cross platform save exports
Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer will be playable at Gamescom
Dan Adelman: The name ‘Wii U’ is abysmal, name possibly caused half of sales to be missed
well…wasn’t expecting him to actually set fire to the bridge but ok. Agree with him though and I stand by that Nintendo needed more people like this guy for reasons I stated earlier.
Looks like Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition is on the way
The reviews did dampen my hype for the game, but having seen game play videos of it I’m still very interested in it and will pick it up during steam christmas sale. Also the developer Airtight Games shut down, don’t think that surprised anyone, their flop with the Dark Void reboot a few years ago caused Capcom to say they won’t ever hire foriegn developers to maketheir games again
Also Azure Striker: Gunvolt won’t have english voices, only japanese…I’m fine with that as their as Mega Man games always have text.
Dark Void wasn’t a reboot, you’re probably confusing the situation with GRIN studios & 2009’s Bionic Commando.
I miss GRIN. Of all the B-tier western studios Capcom hired (Ninja Theory, Airtight, Spark Unlimited, etc) they were my favorite. Fatshark studios seems to be just a hollow shell its former self.
I guess Double Helix was another gamble that worked out well in the end.
EDIT: D’oh, forgot the best outsourcing of them all, Blue Castle/Capcom Vancouver. They molded Dead Rising into a far more enjoyable experience imo.
Actually I was thinking of Dark Void Zero which was marketed as a 20 year old game, but I just remembered that was a marketing joke, lol. But, yeah Dark Void and Bionic Commando made Capcom publicly state they would only internally develop games from then on…guess Tameem Antoniades didn’t get that memo
