I am basically obsessed with analyzing games and figuring out how to abuse the engine of it. I will play and replay RPG’s for example and tier the chars. Most of the time I’m not satisfied with a game until I tier it or discover the most broken set-ups possible. Even if I can’t tier chars I will tier weapons, or spells or w/e. It started off as a fun past time, but now it’s dam near a compulsion. I mean I’m playing Scott Pilgram alot these days and the most frustrating thing for me is how compressed the tiers are. All the chars are good and it pisses me off cuz I can’t decide on a clear cut best.
I could actually beat Resident Evil 2 in under 3 hours. I spent over 100 hours in Final Fantasy Tactics. The War of the Lions and I still haven’t beaten it yet. But I did beat the ps1 version.
I think being a Sonic the Hedgehog fan in general can be a bit of a shameful or embarrassing thing sometimes.
I assure you, I’m one of the better representatives of the fandom, tho’.
Haha there actually is a movie. Parasite Eve was a book written in Japan (now available in english too) and had a movie made based on the book. The movie is Japanese but you can find it online with english subtitles. The story is not the same as the game and it doesn’t involve Aya. It’s an alright movie but I found it to be a bit boring at times and it seemed to drag on a little.
Meh…I’m a big fan of the series but I don’t really talk about it unless someone brings it up to me and I wear a wristband with him on it nearly every day. I only consider it embarrassing when someone in the Sonic fan community takes things over into facepalm territory.
Never beaten Chrono Trigger, any Legend of Zelda games, any Half-Life games. Didn’t beat/play my first RPG (FF7) until last year–and I’m 22 now.
My brother and I bought a Wii, just for Brawl. We had the idea that it would be just like when we played the first game on the N64. After a month, we didn’t play the Wii anymore. Suffice to say, we kicked ourselves like crazy over our bad purchase. We ended up modding it, burning a shit-ton of games, and then selling it to some Mexican family (60 games, ton of peripherals, wireless adapter, Rock Band instruments) for $400 before last year’s X-Mas.
The Parasite Eve games are considered sequels to the book/Movie. When Aya first meets Dr. Meada he refrences an outbreak in Japan where something similar tot he events at the opera house happend. Thats the first book/movie he is talking about.
You are a modern day Howard Hughes, man.
Parasite Eve 2 IS the worst sequel to a game ever.
Good battle system from 1? Gone. Good customization system from 1? Gone. Good powers from 1? Gone. Good storyline from 1? Gone like a motherfucker. Instead, we get a short, garbage game where they care more about retarded shit like Aya in a shower scene than the actual fucking plot and gameplay, as evidenced by the clothing tearing bullshit they put into The 3rd Birthday. The only good things about PE2 were 1. Kyle was a badass, 2. It had a Gunblade and 3. It clowned on and trolled the hell outta the Cloud/Tifa fankids by having a “Cloud x Aerith” heart scrawled on a billboard in one of the labs late game.
sweet, where can i get this game!!!
In the trashcan, where it belongs.
I tried to play Parasite Eve a couple months back when I found the old ps1 in the garage. The game didnt age well. I remember really diggin’ PE when I first got it but I couldnt stand playing it after about an hour. I bet I would feel the same way about Vagrant Story.
What was that one game called that came out around the same time as those ones? It was like a cartoony lookin game and the main character was a chick and I think it was set in japan or something. Then they made a second one and it had lesbo action in it and everyone was stoked. Vague, I know, but its all I can remeber.
Fear Effect. And boy did that game suck, at least in my mind.
Yeah, thats it. I never finished the first one. I didnt really care for it. I got the second one for the lesbo action but I never played it.
Although probably not to the same level as you, Im the same, I like to know what choices are the best/worst, just to know what level everything is at.

I bought WarCraft 3 just to play DotA which i couldnt because i couldn’t even DL the map before got banned of the game, no noobs allowed, oh well, i played a few thru the campaing but didnt really liked the hero system, too complicated lol…
-
I never finished Chrono Cross, got stuck somewhere before disc 2, and then got lost… but i think CT was better…
-
I like soccer games but i’m not good at them…
I rented Hybrid Heaven on N64 3 times to see if i can beat it. Now that i think about it, that game was boring as fuck. Why did i want to beat it?
-the ONLY sports games I find to be enjoyable are Virtua Tennis, Mario (insert sport here), and Battle Dodgeball. Fuck your Madden.
The Resident Evil controls suck! PE1 is one my favorite RPGs!
It took me 10 years to finish Chrono Cross. I upgraded to a PS2 back in 2002 and the 2nd disc wouldn’t play on the system. I was SO close to finishing the game. I was at the last Dragon dungeon before the end of the game and currently, I had to rebuy the game (GH version) to finish it on my PS3. Crappy ending too.
