Video Game Confessions

It took me 15 years to beat the last boss on Sonic 2.

I still can’t do the stampede level from the Sega Lion King game either.

:frowning:

The pros of Donatello were that he was Donatello. The cons of the other three turtles were that they were not Donatello.

1 was good, but where talking about the arcade version in comparison with TMNT II, was 1 even out in arcades??

Also i used to beat TMNT 4: TiT on snes with the hardest difficult without losing life, i played like everyday and wasn’t that hard lol

I love to do Resident Evil speedruns. Don’t really know if that’s a bad thing though…

Oh. Got one. I love P.N.03 for the Gamecube. Love it to death.

I always thought nba live was better than 2k… How wrong i was. I’ve always believed mgs4 was a good game but the ending was lackluser for me. I love rpgs but i never finish them becuase i hate it when games end…

yet all that was overshadowed by shitty controls(even for the nes) and terrible gameplay…underwater level is not why it sucks. It sucks because it sucks lol…

I bought Tekken 5.

Few more confessions:

  • I got a release PSP because I was a Sony fanboy back then. I pre-ordered it so I could pay it off slowly and afford it because I’m bad at saving.
  • I got the PSP Dynasty Warriors with it, because of hype, even though I’d played other games in the series and thought they were shit.
  • I went through a phase where I was collecting “rare” RPGs. Fortunately I got over this before blowing too much money, but I bought non-Greatest Hits versions of FF7 and FF8 and Star Ocean 2 for about $60-$70 each. At least SO2 I didn’t already have, and hadn’t played it before that, so that was still a semi-worthwhile purchase.

Excellent point. And how funny is it for anyone to say these days that in that game the other turtles had pros/cons? LOL. All the other turtles were on the same level. Their weapons usually always took two hits to kill an enemy and usually their range was piss poor. Let’s not even get started on how unfair that Shredder boss was at the end. Who actually beat that without an emulator? If you did, I give you props, but I doubt anyone ever has

Anyone remember Monkey Hero for PS1? Yeah, I love the shit out of that game.

Not really, Leonardo was good enough to hold his own that game. The reason Michelangelo and Raphael sucked was because they had no ranged weapons to take advantage of, especially considering that the enemies in NES TMNT don’t permanently die. You could go half a screens worth from the last point you were at, only to return and find more enemies to defeat/dodge.

The game itself could of been A LOT better, certain levels in the game were poorly developed. Spots seemed impossible to reach or confused the player to a degree. And there’s like waaaay to many enemies in that game, to the point where you have to exploit your long ranged attacks rather than straight up brawl.

Man, there are some good points about the original TMNT, but it was so poorly orchestrated. On top of that, the game feels like they decided about 2/3 into development, they decided “hey, let’s make this a Turtles game!”

Seriously, where the fuck did all those enemies come from? Sure as hell wasn’t from the show or comic. The game’s like SMB2.

I think the dam level in TMNT1 was child abuse and I now have deep psychological issues because of it. To this day I think sea weed will electrocute me.

raphael’s pro: you can use him to soak up damage that you don’t want donatello to be taking.

the dam level is actually my favourite.

Monkey Magic?

LOL, this pretty much. Raph (and Mike to a lesser extent) were only around to be bullet sponges for Don and Leo.

tmnt was way too hard for kids. now its easily doable, but i remember having hard times as a kid.

LOL. That game is too hard and I’m an adult. I had to beat it using save points on an emulator. That game is retarded hard.

  • I still hook up my SNES once in a while to play Chrono Trigger, Lufia II, and MegaMan X. I’ve gotten them on emulator before but it never compares to the real thing for me.

  • Despite what people say, I think that FF7 was terrible and that FF8 was fantastic.

  • For some reason, I think Quistis Trepe from FF8 is the most attractive female video game character ever. Ironically, I’m not into blondes.

  • When I was like 13, I got my Steam account banned because for some reason I didn’t understand the fact that using a hack that is not Valve Anti-Cheat proof would do that.

  • Near the end of college I started playing my friend’s copy of Final Fantasy XIII, and got within a few hours of beating the game when we graduated and I moved out of the apartment. I have been dying to play FFXIII again but don’t want to have to start back over from the beginning of the game.

  • I main Chun-Li in Street Fighter because when SF4 came out, I accidentally pressed down past Akuma (my previous main) on the character select screen in Vanilla during a ranked match and couldn’t back out of my decision to play Chun. I ended up winning knowing almost nothing about her and decided to stick with her ever since.

i was unpacking shit from the back of our storage area at work, and found a copy of Chrono Trigger AND Final Fantasy IV, for the DS. I do not own a DS, but now I own those games (got em for free, and not illegally). I literally fucking danced a merry little jig
