Sometimes I… I…
…I act out the lines in RPG games. Like go all out with it.
i’m probably the only person in here that prefers turn based rpgs to real time and whatever else is popular now.
No way debs we in this together. JRPG/Turnbased>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WRPGs/Realtime. Except action RPGs (KH, Okami)
hmm… lets see…
-I have never played street fighter 1
-I have never played street fighter 3
-I only bought my nintendo ds for umk3
-I have owned all versions of re4 and My favorite version is the wii version
-I let my brother sell our dreamcast
-I always get excited when I watch halo videos yet I have never owned a single halo game.
-Reach might be the first game I get at midnight release.
-the only games I own for the 360 are in 2d or 2.5d
-I have played every console zelda title except the first.
-I have every marvel (fighting) game but I have only beat mvc1+2
-…I recently persuaded my gf’s mother to buy her a new computer because it (was kinda broken) lagged reeeeeeeaaaaalllly bad when she played her mmo and it distracted me when I play street fighter… It was a really terrible computer though. I still feel a little deceiving.
I have a level 124 (non membership, lvl 136 with membership) character on Runescape.
Well, whoever said I won the thread earlier, I’ve just been beaten decisively. Holy crap, I didn’t even know it went that high.
I’m with you guys, JRPGs>WRPGs. Even though I do love me some Elder Scrolls IV.
when ninja gaiden sigma 2 came out for ps3 and they showed the boobs move with the motion controller i wanted to get it…
>_>
If I could go back in time, I would go back and rename Elder Scrolls IV: “A Really Bad Beta Test for Fallout 3”
Modded Oblivion is pretty cash, though. Deadly Reflex mod alone makes it worth the price of admission.
And the funny thing is I enjoyed TES IV a LOT more than Fallout 3. Maybe it was the whole “modding it to have greatswords and the ability the dismember people like Fallout” thing.
The max lvl is 126/138, non membership/membership, respectively.
I really like the Wild Arms series. The first one I played was 3 (1 had a very limited print run here and came out before I had a PSX, and 2 just never came out here), which I got for about 75% off, not knowing what to expect. I fell in love with it for much the same reason you liked the first one. The battle system is one of the best turn-based systems I’ve played, the music is incredible, I loved the story, with its blending on western/sci-fi/fantasy/traditional JRPG elements.
I finally got around to playing the first two recently thanks to PSN. The first hasn’t really grabbed me though; I’m about half way through, up to the floating castle in the desert. It’s no doubt a good game, something about the characters and story hasn’t grabbed me though. I’ve been playing WA2 almost non stop for the last week or so and am loving it, though.
And as someone who you quoted said, the music in the series is some of the best I’ve heard in a video game.
-I still own WA2 on the original PS1 disc, and I loved that game back it when it came out. Good story, music and characters over all, though I have not played a single other entry in the series.
-I like Front Mission more than any other turn based strategy game series, this includes Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles. FM3 is the best in the series so far. The game’s “fake” internet was awesome!
-I think the reason why I can’t play most JRPGs anymore, is because the MegaTen series showed me how this genre should REALLY be done, and thus, playing any other to me seems like disservice.
-I will try out almost any game if it’s sci-fi.
RPG talk? Sweet.
I nowadays prefer action RPG’s like Demon’s Souls and Diablo over turn-based RPG’s. I do still like turn-based rpg’s though, I just feel action RPG’s are a lot more fun than turn-based or “FPS” based like Elder Scrolls. Every WRPG I’ve played from BioWare/Bethesda has been complete fucking garbage and a waste of my time.
Demon’s Souls is still the best game I’ve played this generation, by far. I’ve also played pretty much played every hyped game/some niche games/goty/fps/TPS/FG/whatever this gen and I still feel this way. A close 2nd or 3rd favorite would be 3D Dot Game Heroes, which is by the same makers of Demon’s Souls. The missable quests, lack of a quest log and small scope of the game hold it back.
im still waiting for a true hd super animated 2d SS game (since 97, its been 13 years), and a really good jpn turnbased style rpg in 2d similar styling to ssrpg but with even better graphics. also with a worldmap, ship and horses…
SS characters > all.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and speak for everyone when I say we all used to masturbate to Lara Croft
I’m curious as to what platform you played it on? I think the original Sega CD version is the best b/c of the Magic Experience System and the deeper level of customization it offered over its Playstation counterpart…
But in either case… Zophar’s no joke son! Ahhh Lunar… how I wish you had a third main game… perhaps on the Blue Star… I woudln’t complain.
I switched my PS3 off when someone was beating me on Fifa. I hate when people do that but for whatever reason I literally lost my cool, the game was cheating me.
Ummm… No.
Only SS in my mind right now is Soul Silver. Plz refresh.
