Video Game Confessions

Another one

  • I bought a used Xbox1 off ebay for cheap with 6 months of live, i only wanted to play on live so after the 6 months finished i sold the xbox because i moved and had no internet

  • I have bought 3 ps2, because when i dont have the time or lost the interest i sold my stuff just buy it again a few months or years later

  • I only play FPS MP with friends, and thats because is what most of them play…

Never bought a Xbox, never bought a 360 and dont plan on it

I bought Soul Calibur 4…just so I can play as Sam Witwher(sp?).

I guess I’ll play…

-I could careless about playing today’s generation of games by myself (single player). I primarily play them for the online Multiplayer online experience. I won’t even buy a game unless it has a multiplayer mode.

-I happen to think the Resident Evil series sucked after RE4. The series was better IMO before implementing that easy to see enemies, yet corny third person camera which took the “horror” out of the game

-I hated Tekken after TTT. In fact TTT is the best Tekken IMO

-I think the EX series in SF is awesome and better than any of the other SF games

That’s the only one I’ve ever played seriously or beaten. =X

:woot: Phantasy Star IV, to me is still the greatest JRPG to have ever been made

:xeye: i thought i KNEW you man…

  • when the ps2 came out, i bought a multitap, three controllers and Tekken tag just for the bowling mode. every weekend was a tekken tag bowling party for six months. (yes, none of us could buy alcohol yet)

  • i own an unopened copy of Bully Collectors Edition (the one with the dodge ball) for ps2… i bought it on day one.

  • when i used to work at Gamestop, we had an inter-store bet about who could convince the most annoying regulars to buy really bad games… i won for talking a guy out of buying Ico and sold him Lunar: Dragon Song.

  • i bought that copy of Ico :badboy:

  • i hated Final Fantasy X so much that i haven’t finished another FF since.

  • the only SF games i liked were A3 and 3s.

  • i’ve always talked shit about Everquest and WoW, but i bought Final Fantasy XI on day one and played it for years.

Correct me if I am wrong but 10 comes before 11 right?

Edit : Oh yea XI is online… okay makes some sense.

Phantasy Star fans unite!!!

Who’s ready to throw some Flaeli’s at Sega until they make PS5 huh HUH? ANYBODY???

I’ll jump on the bandwagon and say that PS4 is the best game in the series and easily the best RPG on the Genesis. Maybe not the best 16-bit RPG, but it’s definitely very good.

…and on the flip side, Dragon Song really is the worst RPG ever. The amount of backward-thinking that went into making the game is just astounding.

A few confessions:

  1. I don’t own any current gen consoles, but I do have a DS and a PSP, even though I put more hours into my NES and SNES than both of them combined.

  2. J-RPGs, despite their decline in quality in recent years, are still just about all I play, aside from fighters (though I’m not very good at them).

  3. I probably dislike the online gaming community more than most people, so I usually never play anything online except MMOs. When I’m losing, I get kicked or called a noob, and when I win, I get called a nerd or a cheater. Thanks but no thanks. Nice people exists sometimes, but not often enough for me. Arcade etiquette just doesn’t exist.

  4. I never played FF7 on PS1, only when it came out on PC. Since then, I use the game’s default control setup (numpad) on nearly every PC game I play.

You Make It Seem Like Theres Something Wrong With That…

There Certainly Is NOT…

I can’t take games that have character designs by Tetsuya Nomura seriously anymore. While I was younger I liked his FF8 stuff, but today I look at all his designs and just think that shit is no better than Pokemon. Just looks silly and catered to children to me.

I can’t play any shooter online for more than a week without getting bored, unless it’s Halo.

My motor skills suck. Been on board since World Warrior, but I couldn’t actually do DPs 'til Hyper Fighting, and then two-in-ones until SFA1 (I was in like the 7th grade by then) :shake:

EDIT: My memory is probably even worse. I have trouble remembering customs with more than 2 different sequences in them. SFA2 sweep into repeated special moves CCs FTW

The one time I went to Japan while in high school, I spent most of my free time looking for SF merchandise & hitting up whatever arcades were within walking distance. Without realizing it, on the last day there I had to make a mad dash to buy souvenirs/gifts for everyone back home.

FFX Auron is just about his only good character.

qft

It’s the opposite for me, I can’t play Halo at all but love online shooters

  • I hate SFIV, A3 and 3S because they have 2-button throws.
  • I gave away a Neo Geo AES with 5 games because I couldn’t get an AV cord. In the 90’s, when it was still $$$.

I barely trade in/sell off any of my games and the ones I have traded/sold off I believe I can count on one hand…let’s see:

DBZ: Sagas (so much potential…HOW DO YOU FUCK THIS UP!?)
WCW: Mayhem (augh…)
DB: Raging Blast (After playing T2 and T3 extensively several things about RB just didn’t click for me…I knew I’d probably never ever go back and play it)

actually that’s about all I can remember that I have traded in. I still have all of my games from NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Game Gear, GBA, DS, Gamecube, PS2, Wii, and 360. When I was working at Moose’s GameStop he wanted to see how much credit I would get for my games that I’ve collected that they would take and we couldn’t even do it in 2 transactions IIRC.

I hated Sony for a long time when they first started in the game industry but I warmed up to them near the end of the PS1’s lifecycle. I hated Microsoft when they first started out and even though I still have a dislike for them and think their hardware was made in Russia, I still bought a 360. I still hate Xbox1.

I didn’t have enough money to drop on a Dreamcast and still regret not having one to this day.

I have at least over 20 games on back log that I intend to finish at some point when I get the chance…one of them being FFX which I probably would have completed had not some jack ass waltzed into Me and Moose’s apartment during college and stole his PS2 with my memory card in it. RAGE…

Games I have traded away for pennies:

Dragon Warrior III and IV (NES…boxed complete)
Suikoden II (sigh)
Persona 1 and 2 w/ guides (sigh)
Tactics Ogre
Shining Force II (not a big deal anymore but still…)

  • When I was seven I play through Ariel the Little Mermaid and beaten it twice with Ariel and then King Triton. I know it sad.

  • I bought a Playstation just to play Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street fighter. After that I realize that it wasn’t a good as the arcade. Cyber-Akuma is still one of the street fighter boss I hate. Cheap a$$ motherF**ker.

  • I traded in my PS2 for Xbox so I can play Halo. I play Halo for a week and decided to trade it in.

  • I bought Persona 3 for PS2 and while playing it throughout the night I got a call from my sister that my brother in law had a heart attack and I needed to go to the hospital. Instead of turning off the game I just pause it since I was in a boss battle. I got back home around two in the morning and kept playing.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog for Xbox 360. I have never been frustrated by any game until I play this pile of sht. This suppose to be the next gen Sonic. I told myself that I need to finish it since I wasted 60 dollars. Two hours into the game I was at the City Criss level where Sonic need to out run and dodge object that is thrown at him. The problem is that the camera is facing behind Sonic in third person view and you are blind sided by the object that is thrown behind him. After so many try I pop the disc out and throw it against the wall and then went straight to Gamestop to trade that sht in.
