Sorry for any inaccuracies and omissions in this last beta – we are prioritizing our next Android feature and iOS app development over keeping up with all the rapid changes from beta to beta. We’ll scramble to make everything 100% accurate once the game comes out!
You can see those sorts of properties in the move list, and we’ll be adding more of those descriptions as it gets more clear what types of armor/invulnerability moves have. We’ll put more specific data (like “gains armor on frame 3”) in the frame data part. To see what that looks like, take a look at Rashid’s Eagle Spike in frame data – there is a dark blue description box there like in the moves list. That’s how the UI/functionality looks, so now we just need to gather the data and put it in!
Can’t wait for the BnB section. Keep up the good work and thank you for the app.
5 stars for me, I will advertise the app to everyone that play the game.
The most important thing to me (as a player) is that any tool I use has to be fast enough to be used between tournament games or even rounds online, and intuitive enough that I know where to look and it doesn’t interrupt my flow at all. These requirements translate into what’s important to us as VFrames developers, so it’s awesome that you like it!
There are also additional considerations for the iOS app too… Apple has a stricter (and longer, on the order of weeks) review process for any updates to an app. We expect a lot of corrections of inaccuracies for the frame data following the release of SFV and any balance patches. Not a problem on Android, just change the data and release the app. That would result in a week’s delay on iOS, so we really need a solution where existing versions of the iOS app can just hit a server and pull down the most up-to-date data so they aren’t out in the cold while Apple twiddles their thumbs…
VFrames is awesome man, been using it as a reference tool during the beta. You can now have the satisfaction of knowing that it helped a new SF player improve, as I got beaten by a Bison using Knee press, since I thought it was safe, but then looked at VFrames, figured out it was not, so I started disrespecting that shit hard. My Bison win rate shot up to at least 66%
I hope you guys keep updating it for the entire SFV lifespan, especially as the roster grows, it would be nice to have this tool.
Late on this; the reason I asked was because one particular necalli player got 3 command grabs on me during my wakeup, even though I used moves on wakeup which are listed as 3 framers. Obviously, the player could have had perfect timing on starting the move early. Was just wondering XD
Thanks a bunch for the app though, I do appreciate your effort on this.
Work coming along on iOS version, here’s a peek at the moves list (very rough draft!). Notes feature currently in development on Android.
We’re putting together a collection of ideas for the future of VFrames after the dust settles from moves lists, frame data, notes, hitboxes, etc., and without saying too much, the goal is to be a lot more community-focused. We don’t want VFrames to be a tool you use in a vacuum. Many features on our roadmap this year will, in addition to helping you understanding the game itself, focus on connecting you with fellow World Warriors, near and far.
You said that once things get under way you’ll be putting in specific stuff like “X move gains invincible frames or armor frames or whatever frames on X frame.” Stuff like that right?
Oh and will you also be putting in stuff like jump frames, pre/landing frames, teching frames, wake-up frames, reversals frame, dash frames etc etc.
