Not by design I’m afraid. I wanted the prints glossy rather than matt as matt can make the black less intense. I’ll get around to reprinting at some point. The flash does tend to accentuate the difference though.

Added some side art to the cab. Hmmmm… not sure at all …
I think I’ll leave it plain unless anyone has any suggestions as to how to improve it.
I would leave it blank, but I like overly-simplified aesthetics.
I think it looks nice white and clean. A way you could maybe improve the side art though, is by continuing the artwork up and over the arch at the top sorta like this:

I think the white sides definitely need something, and the artwork you’ve got there looks good. maybe just needs running down to the bottom as well?
If you don’t mind I’d really like to know how you mounted the joystick. Any photos of the underside of the control panel and its construction would be perfect.
I think you should take Iceberg’s suggestion, and also continue that black stripe right down to the bottom of the white area. Then it would look better than no side art at all.

i’d continue it down and round the bottom corner/edge also.
it looks quite good-ish with that extra top part instead of plain white.

Thanks for the ideas! Interestingly my wife suggested continuing the stripe down to the bottom. I also like the idea of the stripe continuing over the top (and cover the paintwork I spent ages on 
!)

I may make another 2 player panel at some point in the future but for now, I’m almost out of gas! This has taken so much of my timerecently but I’ve really enjoyed making it. It’ll be for live use once I get another XBOX (just RROD’d on me again after I thought I’d had a reprieve by doing the 3 towel trick on it).
I’ll be disassembling it soon so will take some pics. The routing isn’t great at all but I’m happy with the general construction.

Please don’t towel your RROD – it destroys the machine. If it’s still under warranty (which it should be) then just get it replaced under warranty and do a heatsink/bolt mod. If you towel it you destroy it and possibly void your warranty.
One of the best upgrades for the PC i made. Loads of space to work with and makes replacing dead psu’s realtively easy!
