I honestly thought I’d taken a picture with my wife in the background! I can’t find her so I hope you’re talking about the cab!
That’d be nice, then I’d have another for back to back action and a blue one for good measure.
I’m still wetsanding the sides of the CP and will need to apply another coat of enamel to it before it’s done. I managed to create a very slight crack in the right hand joint in the top section whilst sanding. Another bit of touching up to do but I’ll leave it attached to the base this time.
Thanks for that. Comments like these are really appreciated. Plans will definitely be forthcoming.
Thanks!
Hopefully a lot tighter than my SF4 game is at the moment!
The CP sides are being finished (sanding, enamel, sanding etc) and I have my PC back after it decided not to power on (didn’t even post for some reason). Just to give more of an idea of dimensions and the amount the CP panel protrudes:
Aaaarrrrghhhhh!!! My main PC has died and it has all my artwork on it. There was an intermittent problem with it and I’ve just figured out it was the power supply. It’s now completely dead so I’m going to have to wait until the new one arrives.
i got that a week after SF4 came out… if it had been any other game, i would’ve just waited for a new one from MS, but i HAD to play sf4, so i ended up buying an Arcade unit… it was one of the new jaspers, and it does NOT get hot. its insane how much better it is.
Great project. Have you thought about potential heat issues? (Obviously) heat/dust/enclosed spaces can create or exacerbate issues like a dead power supply or RROD issues.
My amazing wife said she’d by me a new Elite next month (I’ll make sure it’s a Jasper which they are shipping with now). I’ll be sending this one to get fixed at some point.
Yup, ugly and expensive.
The original idea behind keeping the kit (PC and XBOX) outside of the cab was to prevent the issues I’ve recently experienced
I managed to get the XBOX going again after doing the 3 towel trick on it. I still can’t believe it worked.
Towel Trick is the truth. I didn’t think it would work, but it totally does, at least for a little while. I wound up getting a newer arcade unit and just put my 20gb HDD into it. I was able to sell my Launch 360 to a fellow SRK member for like 60$ He was able to fix it and mod it from what I understand. I’m sure if you can’t get it fixed, you might be able to get a couple bucks for it on here… just a heads up.
I’m thinking when I make mine, I’m going to put screen on the entire back of the box part where the PS3 / PC will be. I would leave it totally open, but I don’t want me or my Girl’s cats getting in there and Hairing it up and such…
Either that, or I will throw some Old PC fan’s on it to help get some of that heat out.
