As far as i know they’re the same case but I’m not 100% certain that the metal plate underneath the top acrylic is the same. You could try printing the templates to scale and cutting them out to see how they fit.
Does anyone here have both cases and can do a proper comparison?
Recently got a venom stick and swapped out parts and when I tried to put the plexi glass back it didn’t fit anymore? Even when I force the plexi in the middle area of it is raised. Any kind of fix?
Erm, pictures would help. There should be small magnets and it’ll pop right back into place. Are you sure nothing is obstructing between the metal plate and the plexi? such as a thick art print or washers or screws?
I ended up pushing down on the middle near where the buttons were and the plexi seemed to have settled into place. I don’t think it was anything obstructing it as I tried it even without the art. Didn’t take any pictures but essentially it was as if I was pushing the plexi from both sides and it bend upwards towards the middle area and the magnet wasn’t strong enough to hold it down. Hopefully it doesn’t happen next time If I want to change the art. Thanks for the help.
can someone confirm if obsf30-rg fit into the venom? I bought 8 pieces at akihabara today and the guy at the shop said it shouldnt be a problem at all. but the Japanese can’t speak English for shit so please help. today is my last day I may have to go back to akihabara
It seems like different companies are using this exact same case (Mayflash, 8bitdo and Venom). Is it possible to just buy this case without the PCB, 30mm buttons and joystick? I just want the empty case with the small buttons at the top so I can throw my own stuff in there. I’d buy that if they sold it like that for $50.
Don’t think it would pay off for them. The main sells for low budget gamepad products are still casual gamers. They don’t care about a few geeks. No big fishes…
There are always casual or hipster gamers building their retro arcade bartop who never heard about Sanwa or Seimitsu. Just sell it @ebay or other marketplaces. They don’t wanne spend 40-50 Dollars for stick + buttons. You will get 15-20 Dollars for sure… That’s good enouth for a bar owner…
it is probability not worth it to them. The few sales they get with a Online shop will pale to those who want the case to make their Company’s stick.
Why go for Chump change when you can go for the bigger bucks.
Keep in mind Arcade sticks is a very niche scene and industry.
Hm my Seimitsu PS 15 (same with PS 14G) don’t want to fit in the venom stick. I saw some guys here with seimitsu buttons in that stick. How did you managed that? By filing the metal holes?
€dit
Seems like only srew-in buttons of seimitsu will fit without work. The others are to big…
The stock microswitches are chinese plagiat of Seimitsu 14D switches. Design is exactly the same and not like SW68 at all. I put some 14D in the stock buttons an they are slightly more sensitive now than before. But the replicas are definitely nearer 14D and not so bad.
Same with the stick. Its not an Sanwa plagiat. More Seimitsu from resistance…
Sorry about this but the 8Bitdo stick does use a USB cord and is compatible with PS3/Xbox 360 and PC with certain button presses on startup then insert USB. Its probably the most versatile stick i have if you combine this with the Retro Receiver. And it’s fully customisable with sticks/buttons/gates.
