It is just a patch or plug to fill in the gap, it could be that there was something there originally (like some connector or interface, maybe a headphone jack) or something could be added in later revisions.
Like MonkeyGovernor pointed out the case is used under a number of brand names, if someone wanted to add USB ports or a heaphone jack, this would be the spot.
Great thread, inspired me to get the Venom stick and am now waiting on the Sanwa parts to replace the stick and buttons. Will be my first mod, cant wait
Thatās my second mod on the venom stickā¦same total sanwa stuff,I just regret that the Alex name is not well centered and seems overposed with the plexi magnet but, i have time to change the artwork by the way
Thought Id try something a little different with my new happily owned venom stick. Firstly, instead of paper artwork I used some black textured vinyl I had laying around so I traced the original template onto the vinyl & cut it out. Hard to tell in pictures but it looks basically like glossy leather under the plexi. Then swapped 6 of my hayabusa buttons with the hayabusa joystick plus 2 black seimitsu ps15ās. The balltop is actually spray painted copper as well as the ps button housing lip for some contrast. Overall Im super happy with how it turned out & the ease of modding, however inserting the buttons was a total pain. The metal panel button cut outs make for quite a tight fit with my other buttons, so I may take my dremel to it & see if i can widen them a bit.
Lastly, I am not having any more issues with inputs not registering/input lag or legacy disconnects so far on sfv thankfully. I feel like a new man haha.
I received my venom today and modded it with a hayabusa stick and sanwa buttons.
Noticed that the top of the plexi flexes some when pressing it (close to the ps-button) itās like the magnet wonāt really keep the plexi down, is that normal?
nice! i suggest you to use a thin black marker for the white edges around the cuts, and to recenter the playstation button wich seems a little awry (on my venom it was like this as well when it came from amazon). Nice work! And also Thankās to KewreL who made the first artwork! =)
Just got myself this Arcade Stick from eBay for Ā£49.99 and it arrived yesterday. Never used an Arcade Stick on a home console before so Iām looking forward to improving my skills in my favourite PS3 & PS4 Beat em Ups.
The Arcade Stick is used but looks like it must have only been used a few times as its in absolutely perfect condition, Iām going to see how I go with it then I may upgrade the Stick & Buttons with official Sanwa parts with the help of the guides on these forums.
