Venom arcade stick PS4/PS3

I ve tried an octagonal gate for the sanwa jlf joystick (never tried before) but i really fine that too weird imho…the throw it s too long compared to the square one and after a while i switched to the original square wich is perfect imho…

Jlf octagon has a long throw, I suggest a kowal actuator if you want to use it. Better yet, a seimitsu ls-56 with octagonal gate- it’s the best octagon choice I’ve found.

Test fit from home printer. Needs the button icons moving outwards and width is slightly off.

Im planning on maybe buying this stick to do some modding.
I wonder how well does the magnetic plexi work? Does it stay in place when using the stick or is it flimsy?

I’m also worried about comfort, how comfortable is the stick to use? Is the surface of the plexi even with the surface of the case?
Is there a gap/glitch between the edges of the plexi and the case that feel uncomfortable on the wrists?

The plexi rock solid. Mine is level with the edge of the case and any gap is minimal if there at all. Been using it for extended periods with no comfort issues

Phone camera isn’t the best for taking pictures but here’s my venom. Replaced everything with Sanwa parts.

Hey guys

I accidently damaged the wire connecting the PS button to the PCB. Could someone provide me with a link for a replacement cable? Preferably EU / UK based.

Thanks

EDIT: even the name of the cable will do.

Finished my Sanwa mod! I used a JLF-TP-8YT-SK, OBSF-30 buttons and a GTY Octagonal Gate.
Special thanks to: @Nekobibu for the printing instructions and @sinetwo for the modding guide!

Picture? You should be able to splice in a new section of wire.

i wish someone would create a hitbox layout panel for this stick…

Taking images from the first page. Its the black PS button at the top of the image

Has the same square connector as the stick. Again its at the middle top this image.

I don’t really have the tools hence why I’m looking to simply get a replacement wire.

Those are JST connectors. You could look around in the UK amazon store to see if you can find one that matches (maybe this, not sure without having your controller to pull one and compare http://www.amazon.co.uk/Micro-2-Pin-Connector-Wires-Cables/dp/B019XLMOSM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459958304&sr=8-1&keywords=jst+2+pin), but you will still need to crimp on .110" (2.8mm) female quick disconnects or otherwise tap into the existing wire. If you can take a picture of the damage on your own stick, we may be able to repair it with something as simple, cheap, and available as wire nuts, even without special tools.

Oh ok thanks I’m not home at the moment. Basically I was taking out the stock stick and cut the wiring I accidently cut the PS button wire too lol.

That’s a super easy and cheap fix, nothing to worry about.

Basically all you will need to do is strip back each wire around 7mm, twist it together with the other end (also stripped ), then screw on a wire nut until it’s tight. Don’t worry about crossing them, it doesn’t matter in this case.

Is it possible to mount the hori hayabusa stick on the venom? (I mean like the sanwa jlf that fits perfectly) Did anyone try it?

Can confirm that a Hori Hayabusa fits after getting one myself. The harness for the stick may be slightly obscure the Sanwa button nearest to it but it’ll still work without issue.

Can you share a picture please? Is it better than the classic jlf from sanwa?

Since getting a PS3/PS4 TE 2 stick here in The Netherlands was impossible, I reluctantly bought the venom stick. I just got it in today and… wow. It’s much better than I expected, it’s way sturdy, doesn’t have a cheap casing and I love the weight. I can’t wait to mod this with the brook pcb.

Got a question though, what’s with the plastic cutout at the front?

This case is used by other brands (Mayflash & 8bitdo). I don’t think it’s used for anything on this stick but the 8bitdo version has used it for putting their logo / sticker there.

Wish we could get these joysticks cheap in the USA.
