so diagonals are not that great.
okay, thx for the info.
it would be my first “real” stick so maybe i will not even notice it.
since you all mention the square gate, can you replace it with gates from other brands without any issues
or do you need to change then the whole stick unit?
i wanted to try out octagonal and circle when possible just to see which fits me better.
Thanks for the advice, i’ll keep this as a option. I think i also need to test the different restricters and how they feel. Im comparing the closest shops now and compare prices, etc to see whats most beneficial.
Wrong name with the quote :p.
Locally i don’t have much option, there’s only 1 arcade shop that sells these things and its very limited. They have a bunch of nameless sticks, the Seimitsu LS-32-01 and the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT and they seem pricey compared abroad. I’ll probably not buy from there.
I’ve got the same feeling of the stock stick. Like some other said, the diagonals feel weird idk. Did you test any other sticks?
Sorry about the quote mishap, still getting used to this forum!
I haven’t tested any other sticks sorry, well I have a Dreamcast stick and an old Hori EX2 for the 360 but they probably don’t count.
I basically spent an evening trawling through SRK reading opinions on sticks until I found one that sounded like what I wanted.
Woooww! This is amazing!! Is it possible to share the image in the original size, so I can use it for my fightstick too?
Otherwise, do you know where I can get the template of the cover, so I can try to make an artwork my own?
Thank you!
Got my Venom stick recently, finished doing my first mod with it. Everything is really super easy with this stick. Replaced the stick and buttons with Sanwa, didn’t like the feel of the stock parts at all. Also fitted an octagonal gate for the first time and don’t think I can go back to a square gate now
Hello, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but where did you print your artwork from and was it fairly easy to mod? This is going to be my first time modding and owning a stick and I don’t want to ruin it so easily.

I got the artwork printed at Staples, got it printed on glossy paper, turned out ok. There may be better places to get a better quality print though.
My experience has been really easy, just unpluged the buttons and stick, switched them out with Sanwa parts, changed the art and put it all back together. The hardest part was cutting the art.
Yes, the template here is the correct size.
To print your artwork on a standard printer, use a metal ruler/straight edge and a craft knife to cut your A3 paper to 366mm x 216mm(14.4" x 8.5").
Hi all. I just got the stick also and this is my first real venture into the world of street fighter, if you don’t count the times I played SF 2 on SNES. D:
It’s definitely a lot of fun to learn the game, quite challenging though as the arcade stick is so new to me.
I want to mod my stick and get the Sanwa buttons/stick like pretty much everyone suggests, but I have a few questions that I am a bit confused about:
Anyone have the Silent -type buttons and have some feedback to share? I mostly play when my wife and son is asleep so I would prefer the buttons being a little more quieter.
Anyone have the Silent -type stick and have some experience to share? It’s a lot more expensive, and I would like some feedback from the stick so I might as well pick up the regular stick with the silent-type buttons.
What about the gates for the stick? Some prefer the octagon shape while others say it should be the square one. Which one does the Venom stick have, and how does it differ? I intend to just play SF V for now.
Can you take the buttons apart? To change the plunger into another surround color for example.
Do I need something else besides these:
SANWA OBSFS-30 -sized buttons,
SANWA JLF-TP-8YT BALL TOP JOYSTICK
JST-XH Female To Female Connector Cable (what about the JLF-H cable that you have to choose when you order?)
SANWA GT-Y OCTAGONAL GATE
Thanks in advance if someone takes the time to address at least some of these issues.
@Tomyrgon have a look at my guide. It details everything you need. Also you can get separate colors for the inner and outer part of the button from most places.
The rest of the guys can answer your silent questions
Going to get Sanwa parts for this stick as well, can’t wait! In the meantime, it’s hard to find Tekken artwork for this stick. Here is one I’ve made. It isn’t the greatest, so if there are some better ones, I’m all for it
Hey there! For the third time, I’m going to point out that for a Venom stick, you do not need the last light hole on the right. I repeat, you do not need the last light hole on the right. It’s probably a leftover from the Mayflash template. ️
My Madcatz TE stick eventually developed rust, and started to smell of metal after prolonged use. The coating slowly got rubbed off over time. I eventually fixed the situation by buying a bottom plexi. I’m trying to prevent this from happening to my venom stick.
From what I know there are no bottom plexi panels for the venom. But I have heard of multiple ways to do protect your stick from rust. From applying sticky felt to the bottom, to giving it a thick layer of paint. I was wondering what you guys do to make sure it stays clean and rust free. Any suggestions?
