Just ordered a Venom (normal shipping so $100 even.
Consensus seems to be that the stick itself is fine, but the buttons should be upgraded eventually.
Iām an old guy returning to fighting games after ~ 18 years away. Played mostly in arcades as a kid, so I always was better on stick and I think Iāll enjoy this much more with one.
Iāll post newbie impressions when it arrives in a week or two.
Does this have touchpad functionality like the HRAP 4 Kai? If notā¦is that a big deal? Pretty much narrowed it down to these two, but I see comments for the TE2 knocking it for lack of touchpad support, and wondering if the Venom has the same potential issues.
There isnāt any touchpad functionabilty that I am aware of.
Quick question to the group, does the lights indicating rather you are controller 1,2 ect and turbo light up for you guys? Iām thinking that is the root of my disconnect problem as they donāt light up.
Yo. I recently bought a venom fight stick and I was seeking information on how to mod this fight stick since I am relatively new to modding. What buttons and joystick will anyone recommend to me. Where can I find more artwork for the fight stick. Do I have to solder anything ? . and how do the electrical components compare to other fight sticks since I have 0 knowledge about how fight sticks work. I would really appreciate if someone can show and tell me about these things and also send me pictures of their Modded Venom stick
My buttons stopped working for a few seconds, but it was my fault cause I got salty and started slamming them instead of pressing them like a normal human being. I hope I didnāt break any electronics
It boils down to personal preference. Sanwa parts are the most popular (JLF lever/any of their 30mm buttons), though some prefer Seimitsu or even the new high grade Hori parts (moreso the Hayabusa lever than the Kuro buttons). Itās not my favorite, but I would recommend starting with a Sanwa JLF to get a feel for the ābaselineā. There are a lot of mods you can do to it to get a feel for what you like.
There is a template linked to somewhere in this thread.
No, though youāll need to be able to splice and/or crimp if you donāt get the JST cable thatās been mentioned many times in this thread. If you want to keep it plug and play, get that cable and a lever that uses a 5 pin connection (most do, just make sure you get an ā01ā variant if you order a Seimitsu lever).
Havenāt seen any complaints about the function of the circuit board.
I donāt know shit about electronics, but is it possible to buy a female to male cable, rip out the male connector and slap on a female connector instead? The places where Iāve found a female-female cable have unreasonable shipping costs to Sweden, itād be cheaper to just buy a hori or mad catz. Thanks.
