hi, sorry but to do short and to be sure (I read the entire post, but my english is not perfect)
Can you confirm that the venom comes with a CLEAR plexi with no picture attached, or to say in other words, there’s no need to get another plexi for custom it ? If it’s the case, it’s a very good point for this stick, add to the low price compare to the TE2 or others.
Also, If I understood well, the plexi keep its place with magnetic system, does that mean that there’s nothing (screw or magnetic parts) above the plexi ?
Another question again, is the location for the wire is spacious enough ? For comparaison, I think the one of the TE1 is not enough but the one of the Q4 is enough spacious.
I can confirm that yes, the plexi glass on the Venom is completely clear and the art is not attached to the glass. The glass is held in place by magnets in the glass and also by the buttons, as the top surrounding plastic of the buttons is wider than the holes in the glass. You have to remove the buttons and the ball of the stick to be able to lift off the plexi glass and swap out the art.
By “location of the wire” I assume that you mean the compartment where the USB cable can be folded and tucked away? If that’s what you mean, I’d say it’s pretty much the perfect size.
Thanks, yes “location of the wire” means compartment where the USB cable can be folded
Ok so this stick seems to be very interesting. The one thing I’m afraid of, is that the largeness is only 32 cm, it’s not very much… But honestly I usualy love sticks Madcatz (Pro, VS) but the appearance of the TE2… I don’t like. This Venom is pretty much beautifull, I think.
I think that the LS-32 is maaaaaaybe easier to learn on since the square gate’s corner are a bit more rounded feeling. It’s also my stick of choice. It’s super important to consider the value on learning on the standard though, which is the JLF.
If i had to recommend one, i’d say the JLF. If you don’t like it, well, welcome to tech talk lol
I finally got to use my very old optical sparkCE to a stick (i’ve been using hitboxes). Since PS4 just patched USF4, I can see that select plinking works again. I rewired my select button… but for the life of me, i cant remember if the ps4 select/touchpad ever did register for this pcb? or have i toasted that part of my board? I can still select plink but only by using the PS3 mode. The damn button wont work on ps4 mode. Can someone who owns this stick confirm if the “touchpad”/select button works for this off the box while in PS4 mode?
I dont think this is a port problem (not otherOcean’s fault). It works on a ps4 regular gamepad, plink the pad and jab and it works. Its the venom’s pcb from the looks of it. I’ve plugged it into a PC to see the input register. And the select button does not do anything even back in its original wiring position. This is driving me nuts… why not include the damn select button in the PCB*#@&@* arrgh so stupid.
Haha that’s one way to put it I was mainly wondering if you think the pre installed stick is easy to learn on and if waiting a while to switch would be a good idea
It’s actually not that bad. I don’t think you absolutely need to change it and it should be fine to learn on, but it isn’t the best feeling stick. I would recommend that you change the buttons however, since the ones on the stick are bad enough to seriously affect my gameplay. Sanwa buttons are good if you want smooth action, Seimitsu are good if you want a ‘clickier’ feel.
Hey guys, amazing thread, really made some question clear for me. I’m new to fighting games, and specially arcade sticks, so I decided to buy this one, since it was relatively cheap and the reviews were positive. It’s fine, especially at my skill level (non existent), but I can’t help but feel the buttons are not up to par, so I tough I might as well change it up, maybe even add a new joystick and some custom art, to really make it my own, so I have a couple of questions if you guys would be so kind as to answer.
Just to confirm, the buttons are 30mm right? I plan on using sanwa.
Would a Hayabusa stick work with this? And if yes, would it be possible to add it with plug and play using those cables mentioned in the thread, or am I better served just going with a jlf, because I can’t really solder and I saw no info on here if I needed to make additional changes to the fightstick for it to work with a hayabusa.
Is the original art glued in some way to the stick, or just stuck with the glass. Is it easy to remove?
And finally, I live in Europe, and on Amazon the buttons are ridiculously expensive, 60 quid for 8 buttons, any Eurobros know any site where I can get this stuff on the cheap, maybe even the cable and the joystick? Alternatively, are the ports from USA stores to EU very expensive?
Cheers!
