You have to keep in mind that arcade parts are designed to be simple to install, since one needs to be able to service arcade machines easily. That being said, i’d really recommend getting the fem-fem cable and either a sanwa jlf, an ls-32 or an ls-40 based on what feels more comfortable to your hands. There aren’t many japanese levers that won’t fit the mount in this stick, in one way or another.
Got two Venoms in may and have been planning a few mods for a while. Just ordered a Sanwa stick (white JLF-TP-8YT) and 8 OBSF 30mm buttons (6 white, 2 dark gray) from arcadeshop.de (I live in Sweden so the shipping costs from Germany are not too bad). These are the first proper arcade sticks I own and this will also be my first ever mod.
In the meantime, I tried printing and swapping out the artwork. Unfortunately it got scaled down like 1% when printing so it’s a few millimeters to small, but i managed to get it in there anyway. I also had to overlap two printouts as the paper is just a few mm to short to fit the whole artwork. It’s just an experiment though, so I don’t care if it’s not perfect yet. I plan to order proper high-quality prints from some local photo shop once I’ve found some art I’m happy with.
This is how it turned out (still stock buttons and stick):
The reason why I ordered the stick and buttons in white and gray is because I’m going for the look of the old official stick for at least one of the Venoms:
So I will probably print out something like this once the parts arrive:
And maybe change things up a bit and make the other one blue with slightly different colored buttons:
I used Photoshop cs, any modern paint software will do the trick.
Here is my mine.

Just recived mine yesterday, but I’ve got problem with L1 button. It’s permanently pressed - but not physically, it looks like a problem with PCB. I can’t play anything because of that… :<
Any way to fix this?
maybe some bridge between signal and ground, you have to look inside of the stick if there is any bridge between L1 signal and ground, use a multimeter and check if it beeps when you touch the L1 signal and any ground, first check on the pcb, if it doesnt beep the problem is´nt there, so you can check until you find the issue. You always can send it back to warranty.
First thing I would try is unscrewing the bottom plate, turn the whole thing over and check to make sure that the metal of the two terminals of the malfunctioning button are not touching. That would cause a short, which would most likely be interpreted as the button being constantly pressed.
Next I would move the cables to another button and see if the problem moves with them, if it does it’s most likely an unwanted short somewhere on the PCB. If the problem does not follow the cables when moved to another button, it’s definitely the button itself that’s faulty, which is cheap and easy to replace.
But if you just got it, the best thing would probably be to just make use of the warranty.
Funny thing is when I disconnect cables form this button it is still presented as pressed.
Tried disconnecting those cables from the PCB as well?
Yes, I disconnected all cables from buttons on PCB, and it is still presented as pressed.
That’s not good…
I don’t know exactly how that PCB looks but I would probably unscrew it and inspect it for suspicious solder bridges. Other than that, it could be beyond easy repair I’m afraid…
Hi guys. i post this here ,
I made a template for the mayflashv2 topic long time ago, i think is the same template for the Venom arcade stick PS4/PS3 ,
i think this could be useful for the venom arcade users
if you want print in real scale, use coreldraw, adobe illustrator or export pdf from this softwares, i may case i print my art with coreldraw and didn’t print with scaled down and you a need a format a little bigger than legal size

Give me credit or thanks if you used this template.
enjoy it!!
So, like I said thats a bridge between the L1 and one of the ground´s points.
I gave it to my dad and he fixed it! Yep there was solder short circuit betwen 2 buttons…
I am lucky that my dad is an electrician.
Thanks guys for fast reply!
I used your template thanks. The led holes need to be slightly bigger when cutting them out. Dimensions and resolution are fine didn’t need adjusting from Photoshop.
Is nice to hear that the template was useful for the community and work with the venom arcade too
regards
Okay noob Alert but Can I get some links to a good place to get the recommended parts the double ended cord for Australia (the land of fuck that’s pricey) and a quick and simple (I’m a little dumb) on what I need to do to change the art work? Also xiondash thanks for the template it’ll be a big help
I bought a Venom a week or so ago. Quickly ordered Sanwa buttons and joystick to modify it, then printed and laser cut some artwork, so here’s the finished result. Process and parts were all recommended through browsing this thread, so thanks. I’m pretty happy with it.

You laser cut it yourself or is Tek-Inno offering that print/cut service for this joystick now?
Laser cut it myself at work.
