Well, if you use him in nearly every Street Fighter game, I’d consider that character loyalty of a sense.

Personally, I don’t mind if people only want to play high tier characters… if they actually like the high tier character they’re playing. If they hate them and they’re literally just playing them because of what a tier list says, that’s just pathetic. A slightly higher chance at a $100 dollar prize really isn’t worth not enjoying the character you’re going to be playing with for hundreds of hours.

Well I do know that ex and special are infinite =D.

You miss the whole point of Fighting Game genre.

Got the game yesterday, and Vega is my Vanilla/2012 SF4 main, so I was so happy to see him buffed and grind him out all day.

His charge move is Sky High Claw. Kinda awkward, but there you go. Has a cool little pose to it, and you can dash out of it, so it looks cool.

Yes, his super is simply Charge D, U, PPP now. SO easy to combo into. In fact, his Cross Rush combo is too. J.HP, Hp, c.mp, qcf mp+mk = Dead or useless character on their team.

From what I’ve tried, Cosmic Heel can’t hop you over a lying character anymore. But, there’s less use for that anyway with ground roll in the mix.

Comboability and Juggle potential is GODLIKE. I’ve been getting air to air trades, juggle with 2 (!) c.mp into FBA. C.lp link is substantially easier too. Been able to get 4 hits pretty consistently and can be hit confirmed into combo of your choice.

EX SHC can be combo’ed after hit now. So much for punishing fireballs though.

Vega EATS meter, so he’s best with a battery character on point with Meter gems, I’m using Rolento and Poison right now.

All in all, claw is certainly a force to be reckoned with in this game. And everything he should have been in SF4. Going back in my lab now.

Like I said before I give zero fucks about people switching to Vega but coming in here to whine about vega players not liking tier whores is just as bad. I’ve played Vega since I was 5 and both sides arguing are complete idiots. Keep the thread about Vega’s gameplay plz.

I’m pretty sure for that combo you need to use MK Scarlet Terror, not the HK version. Or at least I could only get it to work with MK version.

[S]It has to be c.MP~s.HP for that loop. c.HP doesn’t let you cancel.[/S] Scratch that. Just tried doing what Desk did in his combo video. The loop doesn’t seem to work anymore. After the first EX RCF, when I did cr.MP~close standing HP, I got far standing HP instead (non-cancelable).

Vega is definitely looking pretty strong right now. A couple of other things I’d like to add:

-Far standing HP on counter-hit puts your opponent in a crumple state.
-LP Rolling Crystal Flash combos off of cr.MP even from max distance.
-Cross Cancelling an FBA seems to be super safe. On hit you get a tiny juggle with your tag partner. On block you can keep the opponent blocking with whoever just tagged in.

Got the game today, trying out shit… Vega is ok in this, honestly the whole game feels slow and clunky as fuck, I’m shocked they actually were able to make something slower than SF4 -_-
anyways, if you guys have anything you want me to try out or test lmk and I’ll do my best ^^

nah it works, just did it, u do c.MP~c.HP both times no s.HP involved.

also, updating the list i posted earlier:
-Karathrow does not work.
-c.MP~c.FP looks like it’ll be a great punisher/poke, however its unsafe as fuck…
-c.Lp~c.Lp link is helllllla weird, its like you need to do it with online timing coz of how slow it is now.
-c.MK feels hella slow, im guessing its back to 8f.
-c.MPxx ST c.MP xx ST works, no one tested if you do more AFAIK.
-CH is trash now, it completely whiffs on crouchers and you cant corpse hop with it. it’ll probably only be a far punisher…
-EX SHC no longer goes through fireballs, however it sends the opponent into a juggle state.
-EX FBA> izuna does ok damage due to scaling, the better option is to do EX FBA>slash as it sends the opponent into a juggle state, looks very timing/spacing dependent.
**-**EX Roll> c.MP~c.HP xx EX Roll loop works for as long as you have meter.
-HP Roll is jab punishable now.
-Slide is definitely alot safer, still unsafe upclose.

-EX FBA>izuna is alot harder in the corner.
-BHC knee follow up isnt v.2012 status, it drops a fair amount from I what i saw, especially in the corner.

Can you see if Vega’s normal attacks are - on hit by testing them against a reversal Ibuki super which is a 1 frame startup and travels half screen. Main ones I would like to know are St HK, cr HP, cr mp, and St HP which were all negative on hit in SSF4. Or if there is Vega frame data floating around somewhere, can someone direct me to it?

And when you say that CH completely whiffs on crouchers, do you mean from close up as well?

does CH whiff on crouching giants like Hugo as well?

too bad c.mk is slower than 2012, i just got used to it lol >_>

abount the game being slow, i always felt it was sooo fast watching the streamings ._.

i think it get slow when your performing juggle, just like tekken

yes CH whiffs at any range, I was up against a Ken mashing c.LKs and it did CH and it completely went over his head and then i got tagged by the c.LKs -_-

Havent tested it against Hugo yet, but it whiffed against most of the cast so far.

for c.MK thats just my personal feel, I might be wrong but it does feel like slower.

and the game is incredibly slow, you’d expect the chains to be like marvel where you’d go 1-2-3 but NOPE, in this game its like 1~ 2~ 3~
you have AGES to hitconfirm coz of how slow and weird the chains are…

if it wasnt confirmed yet, all Scarlet Terror versions (including EX) are still terrible and have no invincibility.

Vega’s looking beautiful this time around. I’m quite pleased. I could care less about the bandwagoners. It is fitting that they would want to flock to such beauty.

VesperArcade is uploading trials one by one and I can’t wait to see Vega’s trials. That combo at the previously posted video in this page is frigging hilarous. But guessing from SF4 and versions, Capcom most probably didn’t put his more difficult combos again.

Btw, does anyone know his cr.lps are one frame links again?

His cr. lps are so much easier to link in this game…I’ve been hitting them consistently…the linking is a bit slow.

ITS TOO SLOW! i dont see how thats easier, its like i have to go with online 1-bar lag timing to do it thats how slow it is. Shit is stupid, why change the timing on that link? makes no sense…

I was never able to get those links consistently(even though i did cr.lp cr.lp cr. mp ex fba as a miracle online) so maybe I’ll finally be able to do them. :smiley:
