Just imagine if capcom had not increased the star up of u2 in AE…i mean…how often do you get ch cmk?..thanks to cmk being 6f start up i managed to get the ch cmk,cmk, cmp, ex-fba combo all the time… (started doing it after i saw broken G play)…i guess ch cmk–U2…may be viable after all…speacialy against things like dudly and balrog dash punch…and even Yun launch punch if you read it properly…any special that moves forward while graunded before hitting and is not invoulnerable is a solid candidate for ch cmk–U2…you could always catch somebody while trying to use an overhead…
Yea I was wondering if it was possible to set up counterhit c.mk into U2, seems like you can but you gotta go off of gdlk reactions.
gdlk reactions and/ or pretty predictable opponents…like the ones i happened to play against most of the time…
The only buffs i see done to Vega is a better cr.mk. The other stuff added like the stuff done SHC it should have always been like that Capcom new few what 2 years to do something to that move and it’s still bad. =/ also CH… that’s not a buff it’s a Capcom: “here you can have this back… kinda” but i’ll take that anyways. oh yea U2 is like that too you can have it back… kinda >_> but i’ll still take i still woldn’t call it a buff or a fix. It’s impossible to fix something that isn’t broken.
Was Capcom expecting Claw players to use U1 now? No, they didn’t think that not one bit they knew what they were doing. That change feels like a 1+ dmg added to cr.mp.
Still the only “real” buff i like is the cr.mk. Capcom should have given “real” usable buffs?

reacting to ex-fba trades are easy. i usually go ch>ex-st for fun afterwards. nailing the opponent with an ultra afterwards doesn’t seem difficult off the top of my head
errr… regular RCFs on hit are +2, EXRCF is +4. why would an FADC after an EXRCF be only +4? logically it should be +6
Yes, there’s definitely more to it than just going by the counterhit message (who I’m facing, at what range I’m at, if I was at frame advantage prior to the cr.mk etc). I’m not arguing it. However, with this, I’m saying that you can hit confirm off a ch cr.mk. It’s hard, but definitely doable.
Sadly, Meteo is correct. All versions of RCF cause the same amount of hitstun, EX just has 2 frames less recovery.
In comparison for what they did for some of the others might as well say we didn’t get anything. Oh well fuck it. SS
The only significant change that I noticed after playing a few matches online is that CH is safer at max range, and cr.mk counter-hit into ultra 2 can be utilized but I guess you need good reactions and CH >U1 is ass as a set-up or combo. But yeah, I’m fine with his “changes” and “buffs” and the fact that we got cr,mk CH >U2 and safer cosmic hell makes him a overall better character. Feels extremely the same but just slightly better…and im honestly happy with that.

It could be just me, but I swear it seems like EX SHC is safer on block. I don’t think they messed with the frames, but visually it looks like you land much further away from the opponent on block. I don’t think it causes blowback on them, but the gap between you and the opponent certainly looks wider to me on a blocked EX SHC.
Maybe they did sneak some ninja buffs in there.

I think far standing medium kick has a better hitbox, I’m not 100% sure. I’ll try to test it if I can

Yeah, me too. I’m kind of dissapointed, I was hopeful for some awesome stealth buffs, like a much improved hitbox for crouch fierce or faster startup/recovery for standing fierce. But no such thing.
yeah i dont notice any stealth nerfs on Vega at all. And i’ve spent a good bit of today in training room
I mean it’s not too big a deal IMO. Anyone who’s stuck with Vega this long knows the character inside and out (or should), and in 2012’s metagame I think Vega will be just fine. He’s a good character IMO, even if I think he could stand to receive a few slight buffs still.
EDIT: I’m well aware that this could just be my mind playing tricks on me, but does cosmic heel appear to hit from further away than before to anybody else? I swear it feels like it connects from ranges where it wouldn’t quite reach in AE.
no but i am noticing the fact that vega is farther away after SHC… a buddy of mine that usually nails me for it on block is having problems doing it now.
Sure it’s not your spacing? You can space it in ways that it can land so shotos actually have to walk and try to sweep you…and can still miss.
I haven’t DL’d it yet, I’m about to now. Gonna have a good check of the lab today and shake off a lot of this rust hasn’t played the game for over a month, but if we want to talk properly playing, it’s more like 3 months
I’m just glad we’ve had no nerfs tbh. The fixes are fixes, sure we don’t have buffs, but eh. we’ve dealt with worse as Vega players (providing you started on vanilla).
I notice no shc changes besides knock down, cosmic heel +1 on block makes a fuck ton of a difference, sadly I notice no range buffs on cosmic heel.
I’m happy with Vega but still fuck capcom. the could have given us EX fba or crmp damage back at least. I could give 2 fucks about anything else if I had ex fba back. But abel for 200 damage tornado throw… da fuck is that about?
At least they let us keep the crmk speed and the air throw range+speed so I ain’t complaining.
