Vega: SSF4 2012: Apology Edition

Of course Dan is not OP. But I feel that matchu up is in his favor just because of the block stun that bicycle kick move does. I also think he is stronger than Ryu btw.

What do you mean “still hoping”? Aren’t these the final changes now? Is there still hope?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few changes not mentioned so far. Don’t expect anything major though. “Ninja-buff” as in “unannounced”.

SECRET BUFF
CLAW THROW RECOVERS 1 FRAME FASTER

SECRET NERF
KNOCKED-OFF/THROWN CLAW STAYS AIRBORN 3 TIMES AS LONG

Actually it’be kinda funny to see the items just floating in the air for an absurd amount time.

there were ninja buffs in AE, and ninja nerfs in super, so it’s very possible

My secondary used to be Dan (I play him less now, but he’s really fun) and every time I played a Vega I did really well, even better than a mirror match simply because a decent Dan can apply really good pressure and mix-up a defensive Vega.
So if you feel that the match-up is in Dan’s favor, I agree with you.

They didn’t metion anything in the blog about cody’s bad spray fadc -> ultra in the blog but it was in the trailer or maybe I just over looked it.

You over looked it.

In the notes they say it is a two hit move now and can be FADCed. It is upto you into what you FADC it.

The way I see it ex.rcf, c.MP xx ex.fba is our super/ultra combo a lot of characters already use fadc to combo ultras antway and some of them don’t even break 400.

I like the rcf its really effective when you get used to charge partitioning I just wish it was faster.
Ninja buffs to c.HP and s.UK would be nice.

What were the ninja nefs in Super?
And for the nija buff in AE, if you mean the grab range for Izuna, I’m still not convinced that it is even there

it’s there

and the ninja nerf was the ultra activating at startup instead of at the wall

Ah you are right, how could I forget.

aka see front page

well, Its me, JDH the auditor, under my new name.

I quit Claw for AE because I was tired of the same gameplay style and tried to pick up Viper. Of course, about the time this happened I also was about to get married, had to work 60 hour weeks while traveling most weeks for my job, then subsequently got laid, then had to find a new job, then had to move, etc etc, so instead of quitting Claw for AE I pretty much just quit video games period.

After reading the Claw buffs that are coming back (and mainly reading the Yun/Yang nerfs) I think I will pick him back up, but I’m not dropping Viper. I completely suck ass with Viper, but I really enjoy her as a character and so I am dual maining.

Lainysky, a Viper player, recently said that Claw and Viper were the most execution heavy characters in the game. I NEVER chose these two characters because of their difficulty, but rather, I liked them. Why am I a glutton for punishment?

Anyways, I am WAY behind. I NEVER played AE so can someone please run down the frame changes from Super to AE that Claw got, excluding the frame changes that are being changed again by AE2012?

I know c.forward went from 8 frame to 6 frame startup (FUCK YES)
I know CH had a huge nerf to block stun, but can’t remember the details,
I know EX RCF became +4 on hit (FUCK YES) but can’t remember if the startup on any RCF was changed.

In fact, I can’t remember the startup on RCF at all! Wasn’t fierce RCF like hella stupid 20 frame startup?

cMK is correct
CH was moved to -4 on block at point blank (-2 for the usual range) add 1 frame advantage for 2012 so it’s only unsafe at point blank range now, and only to 3 frame or less moves. (-3)

EX RCF startup still the same

EX FBA and super damage reduced but grab range increased slightly

cMK damage was supposed to be reduced but somehow managed to escape the nerf… twice (unless it’s a ninja nerf now)

cMP damage reduced by 10

that’s all I can remember. I dont think there were any others.

U2 +3 on startup in AE, in 2012 they will remove one frame of startup.
Airthrow buffed to 3frame start up
c.HK damage nerf (really capcom… really?) but fixed back to Super damage.
Can’t really think of others

thanks lol yeah I forgot those

Yay for airthrow! I love airthrow!
Yay for c.forward!

Actually, if I just use less CH and switch back to using U1, it will actually be like a completely buffed Vega! The slight damage nerfs aren’t meaningful.

U2 was only a temporarily good ultra… In the early days of super is was a blessing since it taught people to not jump at you like an idiot, but it didn’t take long for good players to learn to only safe jump a Claw player w/ ultra meter. Once they learned it, it really wasn’t of much use, since good players tend to be in a habit of only safe-jumping anyways…

Can’t wait to play some footsies w/ 6 frame c.forward!

i’m still really liking the increased FA range… especially for Kara FA

U1 being buffed definately helps. I’ll be hitting up the training room on the 13th

You know I really must admit that I never worked kara focus into my game as much as I should have…

Going away from street fighter (fighting games in general) for almost a year is eye-opening… It’s like I am less emotionally attached to myself as a player and I can evaluate the things I did well and didn’t do well more fairly…

When I was in the heat of playing the top 15 or so players in my state I got fixed in my ways and really couldn’t objectively judge myself as a player. I under-used kara throw, never used kara focus, and really could have played calmer under pressure.

As far as I’m convinced, if I use less CH than this Claw is stronger than ever!
