Vega: SSF4 2012: Apology Edition

^ That’s a good idea, although at least the super izuna WOULD actually grab honda out of a focus… so it’s like, read the super and choose a different option or take the damage.

Oh yall saying as soon a you press a punch button from the super commands it activates the flash no matter where u are?

Outside of back throw with opponent in corner, I see no good setups for super. An Izuna Drop super that does Final Atomic Buster damage isn’t a bad trade if you can get it set-up. That’s just me though.

I think the best buff for super would be if he hit on the way to the wall, as it is in U1. So when you cancel a roll into super it would connect and be a combo, also doing it after a focus would be possible.

yeah i was thinking the same thing…but it would probably scale so hard that you would actually end up doing the same damage or less than landing the naked super…it would still be a huge improvement

hey this is a darn good suggestion…post it on capcom unity…although if the ex uit on the way up and the ultra hit on the way up then i think they made a conscious decision to make it not hit on the way up…posting it worn hurt though

meh…

i dont like it personally.

bring back the 4th hit IMO

The fourth hit is still there. It just has the same problem it’s had since Vanilla; coming out really, really late. =/

It comes out fine every time (no delay at all) if your press the punch before hitting the opponent and letting your hitbox glide into them. Never a good reason to not go with the grab though IMO. That is, if you use it at all of course heheh

Slash version of Super works great on Blanka’s electricity.

Bring back da fourth hit!

I don’t think in all of my time playing street fighter with vega, I don’t think i’ve ever got that fourth hit

i mean realistically you can press a button and hold a direction if you think someone is gonna hold up and try and grab you, in that case you izuna them, if they sit and block, then you get the claws out

now i couldn’t even tell you if it’s unsafe or not (most likely is) even if you get the fourth hit, and it only does like 230 damage or something? It’s an untechable knockdown which is great, allows you to continue mixing up, but idk, as i said even when i try to bring it out there i never get it.

To get the forth hit consistantly you gotta input the punch button earlier then you would if you were going for the grab. Hit the training room and try it! You can’t trust your eyes on this one, hit the punch button early and if the first hit connects the rest should. Meteo is correct in saying you have to kinda “glide” into it, since Vega stays in the same spot when the first three hits land, but right before the forth hit he continues to fall downward. Its all about timing. You have to get the punch input out early enough so Vega literally has time to stretch out his arms for that final hit, otherwise his feet will hit the floor first and the animation will stop after the third hit. It also helps if your positioned above the character’s head, not above their shoulders which is better for the grab.

The main thing to remember is to hit that punch button early, so you give Vega enough time to throw his arms out after that third hit and you should be fine. After a few tries you should have it down easy.

You pretty much hit the punch button when you’re about over their head. It’s a funny little angle, but it’s a lot earlier than a lot of people seem to think. It isn’t hard to get it to come out, you’re just hitting the button far too late.
And it does about 230-280 with the fourth hit iirc. I couldn’t give you the number exactly since the last time I used super was…uh…uhm…well I’ll be. It’s pretty useless XD.
Your ex bar is way better spent elsewhere.

wrong 4th hit…

i was referring to this 4th hit

apparantly i’m the only one that remembers this

LOL nah dawg you’re not the only one, but your statement was pretty vague thats why no one got it.
i do agree though that they need to bring that back!

Yeah you aren’t the only one to remember that…good times. Alpha 3 is my personal favorite of all the SF games, so brutually fast and unforgiving.

As for IV, Vega’s Super already does a ton of damage, I guess for aesthetic value that forth slam would be cool though.

Just like in alpha vega laught when he nails the super…but to me it was much cooler in alpha…vega laught before the hits…is an “I’ve got you know” laught…more dramatic than the way it is now…edit: on second thougth…it was more like a “oh you’re sooo fucked” laught…

I know how to get that final claw slash but what i’m saying is practicality of landing it is super low

The best way you can get super off is to throw someone off by canceling it off rcf when they are in the corner. Even then it is pretty low.

I like the late flash for super, like
when you hit the activation p button. Seems reasonable to me.
