Yeah I just spent a few minutes in training and figured it out…never knew about that shit.
Does the type of punch determine hitbox range when using the Izuna throw? I find myself hitting it more often, but since it all does the same damage, I really don’t know.
Either way, I hate having to telegraph it. Shame it isn’t a throw command.
Yes it is a throw command. You just have to be within throw range, for it to be a throw command. Its :r:/:l: + punch. Besides its not hard to land. And imagine if it was what you wanted.
A) slash wouldnt come out as fast so you can punish people they jump up when you wall dive
B)When opponents jump up you wont be able to grab them because what if you did slash instead of grab. The current grab input puts you in the best possible position if the opponent decides to jump up. You Izuna them and can start the vortex.
C)Timing for the grab would be much tighter and harder to do. And you would have to be above them, not to the side, but directly above.
You want to know how I practice it? Make Blanka do non-stop electricity and grab the fucker out of it. Once you learn to do it consistently you should be able to grab with Izuna a lot better.
People wanting the Izuna to be a throw command dont really get the point of the walldive, in other dive moves (Gouki, Cammy, Gouken etc) they have the throw as a separate command because what you’re going for with them is MIX UP. In Vega’s case however you ALWAYS want to go for the Izuna, the slash is simply there to cover for it in case it whiffs or you mistime it or whatever. No Vega in his right mind should go the Slash willingly, especially in SF4 as its just focus bait.
Good point. Couldn’t they at least make it a little more reliable?
Especially with the Wall Dive having such a harsh penalty, even on whiff.
its reliable enough as a meaty on wake up (character dependant). the thing I really want fixed is the recovery of Empty walldives, hopefully it has less recovery in Super, and maybe even have a fake walldive like HDR…
I guess this has been asked before, and I apologize for asking again.
But I need some help/tips on how to beat the last hard trial with vega. I just can’t get the 2nd light kick to link.
Im not sure what iam doing wrong here. I dont spam the button or anything.
try holding forward while doing it, the timing is pretty tight as its a 1 frame link (i think), you can plink it to make it easier. To me the hard part was the c.mp after the double knee as I was always out of range when it came out.
What follow ups and mixups do you guys use after a successful ST? This is a place where I think I can improve my game.
- Another ST for meter and Oki placement
- dash, crossover CH
- backdash, safejump j.MP
- Izuna (only if they tech)
- Walljump, c.MK (only if you’re near a corner)
I think thats it
walk foward slide under end up on the other side.
Cosmic heel sheenanigins
Kara throw psych outs mixing it with st.rh
max range slide
Izuna vortex
EX FBA
walk foward and dash out as he gets up to bait something stupid
FA
do nothing
I personally do forward, down to down forward + punch. Cause nothing says GG like a successful ST, the game is already over.
Off topic but are there any updates on his new ALT. for Super?
>_>…
Mask question. Do people make an effort to pick up their mask, or do they just ignore it like I do? What’s the consensus on how Vega should deal with it?
hy all
sorry for my poor english level
I try to play claw a little bit, but i have a problem for select the wall for flying barcelona
I dont really understand how to choose your wall for launch the attack, my claw never go on the write wall, he always go to my back wall, even if i try to do
down/front [charge] then up/front…
can you explain me how to choose my wall
thanks
Try holding up/front longer. By that I mean continue holding it up/forward after you press kick. Sometimes if I just tap the direction or let the stick go back to neutral too quickly I get the back wall instead.
its now generally agreed that plinking a lk is as pointless as throwing your mask.
As far as I know, you can’t plink standing lks, only crouching lks.
It depends on how lucky you feel? Lots of players will sit on it, because they’ve just made you into Seth except without any of his good moves. I mean honestly if you don’t have it on and eat an ultra, that’s kind of game over, so I’d definitely try to pick it up but not so much if the opponent is setting up traps around it.
