Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

It won’t combo because resetting them makes them invincible.
To the best of my knowledge, at least.
Also, you can’t cancel sLK or clLK. If anything, it’s better to try it with sLP.
I wouldn’t mind trying it out though, along with some other things I’ve been thinking about testing.

Yeah but I thought it would be different with jumpins. Oh well. Don’t have much hope though :'D

since the trial thread appears to be dead ill try my luck here.

Does anyone have any tips on hard trial 2?

I have trouble linking c.lk into the light scarlet terror… I can do all these bits seperatly but the timing appears to be insanely strict!

eh… c.lk -> ST is a link not a cancel??? :wow:
I thought c.lk can be canceled all along…

No, watch a youtube vid of the trial

Anyway, I still cant do it ive been trying on and off for the whole day haha.

ok i dident wana start a whole new thread about this cuz im sure ther is plenty…but are ther any self proclaimed vega masters playin on PSN who wana give my vega a run? i been maining him since a lillte after the game came out and i have only ever played maybe 2 vegas that where consistently better than me…not saying im all that great, maybe its cuz ther are barely any vegas playin on PSN…anywayz if anyone wants to critique my vega jus add me!

I’m a decent vega so ill add you.

Does no one have tips on vega’s hard trial 2? lol

hey is it okay if i put a post listing vega moves and attributes i mean everyone else has one why not vega

I’ve made a thread like that, but it never picked up. Feel free though.

its funny cuz having a thread like that is good idea…but pedoviejo’s thread (through no fault of his own) has already turned into another "why vega sucks so bad, and how all of his moves are garbage’’ thread lol…for once i would just love to hear ppl talk about whats good about his moveset! if hes soooo horrible how come i keep winning with him?

There’s a reason you don’t hear people singing about Vega’s awesome moveset. Why don’t you tell me what’s great about specials that are mostly unreliable gimmicks unless they’re used in a combo, none of which have invincibility frames, and a handful of good normals, two or three of which are solely dependent on whether or not you have your claw attached. I’m not trying to say Vega is unplayable, so here. His st.HK and df.HK are decent, and his c.mp is a great poke with his claw attached.

btw I can go down to my arcade and pick people apart with Vega if they’re casual players that don’t really take the game seriously, but when the guys that attend evo every year come I struggle to stay on the machine past one game. I’m not saying you suck, but maybe you just need to play better people.

I did bring up a positive for sky high claw if you can predict, but apparently there’s no room for yomi in SFIV.

Also, just an FYI, EX Scarlet Terror has projectile invincibility!

RCF is a good meaty attack when fighting another Vega or Fuerte player. =D

@ Warlike

What part are you stuck at? If you’re having trouble putting together the crouching normals, it’s a matter of timing and I can’t help you out on that. If you’re trying to practice the later part, scarlet terror into EX scarlet terror, don’t try to do it by itself.

Instead, try getting use to Cosmic Heel into Scarlet Terror. Switching from any forward position back to a downback charge has to be second nature to you or else you wont have enough time to charge before the next attack. When you can do that move consistently, I would suggest trying the combo again as you will immediately know to shift back to db. as soon as you finish inputting the first scarlet terror.

I do know that the EX version has projectile invincibility, but it really isn’t as practical as it sounds. It has its uses, but I meant invincibility in the sense that it’ll actually dissuade your opponent from laughing his ass off at your attempts to stop him from throwing something out at you on wake up.

RCF is a good meaty against fuerte and Vega because they both have terrible wake up options.

As for the sky high claw, if you go and read that thread, I have nothing but praise for it.

good points though.

It’s definitely not a good wakeup option. But it’s still useful in certain situations.
For example, a Guile who uses sonic booms as walking shields =P
Or an Akuma using air fireballs to setup a demon flip mixup trap.

ah i cant help my self sorry.

but its because you are in g2 sorry

again im sorry i couldnt help myself

I agree, everyone in G1 have handy methods of dealing with Vega(who has lower priority in all moves than Ryu etc). Pratically every win is an achievement of sorts.

hey man i never said his moves are all that great! i know they suk compared to most of the other cast! i used to blame half my losses on shitty startup and bad priority lol…now after playing him for a while i have gotten to know what he can and canot do and im cool with that…now if i lose i know it was because of dumb mistakes on my end…all im saying is everyone who uses vega knows his faults yet everyone still keeps bitching about them! we all know he sucks! dont u feel better wining with vega despite how shity he is? it just makes the win that much better i find.

and i never said i was flying throught the ranks with him! i actually quit playing champ mode cuz i felt the higher teir characters had a much easier time wining than vega did…gona beef up my bison and maybe take another run at it.

Hey I wonder if this’s true, after awhile playing between ps3 and xbox 360, I noticed that people with 8k GP on 360 aint as good as the ones on ps3. I dont know why is this, but it takes a lot more to beat people with 8k GP on ps3 than 360. I guess because there are way more people using a 360, hence there are more scrubs to feed GP.

are you talking about vegas with 8kgp?
