Jumping over him as he’s getting up isn’t bad though. You can bait an uppercut that way, if you can predict it.

When Vega drop his claw and mask. What effect does it have on him?

Claw: Less range, MAYBE less damage
Mask: +10% damage, -25% defense

The priority of his pokes is lower without the Claw, too. And you can’t do some combos.

Yo since when was Vega able to link Close HP into s.HK ?! I jumped in with HP then went into the forementioned link.

that mess hurt. I haven’t played this game since b4 championship mode, so is this something new or what? I never did it b4. ( I think i my controller messed up and my special didn’t come out.)

…sooo can i follow the HK with anything? charging might be hard as hell to pull off.

Is it easy to do Vega’s reverse ultra (to the opposite wall), with a sanwa stick square gate? Having trouble getting it out (especially online) consistently with a competition stick.

You can link Close HP(both hits)into st.HK tho.

I haven’t tryed to combo any thing after it.

Are you using a Hori? That’s what I’m using, and I have the same problem.
I have a sanwa stick in transit though. I didn’t get it specifically for that though. I won $200 in a money match, so I’m using that to get a new stick =D

You can’t, since sHK is -2 on hit =(

clHP is +5, and sHK is 4 startup, so that explains why it combos. That’s pretty nice.

Did both hits of the sHK connect? If so, awesome, that’s a whopping 300 stun on one simple combo.

I’ve played on Sanwa sticks in customs, the stock TE and at the arcades, and the square gate makes the Ultra motion nice and easy. You’ll still mess it up under pressure though, and it won’t matter what stick you use. I know because I’ve done just that.

Nope. sHK and clHK aren’t special-cancellable, and the opponent recovers before you do on hit.

clHP is possible because the first hit is special-cancellable.

I dunno HOW you have enough time to charge for an Izuna/ST after a standing clHP…u prolly got do somethin similar to a kara?

and yes, the sHK hits twice after the clHP. 4 hits total. dunno the damage numbers.

Are you guys using the shortcut motion for the opposite wall Ultra? I learned to do this Ultra on the damn 360 controller, and have since played on my friend’s square and octo gate sticks and didn’t really have any problems when transfering to those.

Hold DB, DF, DB, UF + KKK. I know some people still do the full roll around the gate, doesn’t work so well on the square.

I do teh roll, and it’s weird. It used to work for me liek a charm, but once the patch came along, it stopped working completely. I’m going to be honest, between the patch and now, I’ve landed the ultra in an actual match a total of one time.

It’s not exactly the most useful Ultra lol. Against full-screen fireballers and people who throw empty Ultras, yeah it’s great, other than that though…

I spent all that time learning the FA -> Ultra, and I never use FA in matches :frowning: I need to work on that.

I used to use it to punish blanka’s boll on block. Now I have nothing lol
