Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

I’ll do it if you don’t mind waiting a day.

Damage is the same regardless of where they are.

thanks works, like a charm now. i’m pretty sure a few lurkers had the same question lol.

Anyone else having trouble vs. Gen? And not just trouble with one aspect of the fight, but everything after the announcer says “Fight”.

Also can Elf’s fajita/tortilla be blocked? Or are they considered command throws? I had a really tough time on wakeups vs. Elf. If I tried a reversal it traded at best, if I missed the backflip I ate a tostada press. Did I simply try blocking? Course not. And on the moring after my guess is blocking is the answer. Which leads me to after block best punish is…df. hk?

They are considered throws. You can block the tostada press, but the throw has the same animation so it’s like a coin flip if they hit you or not. Dashing back can help doge it but I think Scarlet Terror is your best friend against El Fuerte. It will hit pretty much every aerial and it will jump over the sweep safely.

I haven’t had much problems against El Fuerte, but maybe I just have yet to play a good one.

Backflips saves lives, especially against Fuerte. =P

Another question from a guy new to SF4 Claw, what best way to consistently land Izuna Drop after EX Wall Dive, I get 50/50 Drop or Claw followup.

dont hit punch until your right next to the opponents body in the air, and make sure you stick is going toward forward or back when you punch… doesnt work all the time if they are thrown up in the corner btw.

Don’t forget that we lose BP in a Draw Game:

Okay, maybe not. I thought it was funny, though. Like we’re not getting screwed enough! :shake:

Had more success on wake ups last night mixing backflips and s.terrors to keep them guessing, but man Cammys cr.jab stuffs terror on wake up? wtf?

Or is my timing off? I usually go for reversal/backflip as soon as Vega’s feet touch the floor. Backflip always works which is I think terror gets stuffed.

Something that might need confirmation. Izuna Drop works best when crossing up the opponent.

I remember someone asking an easy way to Izuna Drop grounded opponents and ive been having a semi decent ammount of those coming out when I fly over them before activating it.

I just want to say something random, not sure whether its been mentioned before but…

When you do a walldive and you see someone charging up to absorb your claw hit…that’s a free Izuna Drop right there… I don’t know where people got the idea that it was a smart thing to try and absorb when Vega walldives…

If you think that’s bad, I’ve played people that try to absorb jump-ins against ZANGIEF. Free SPDs’ all day. I think my character use messes with them though because you SHOULD be trying to absorb Bison head stomps. When I change to Vega or Gief they wanna keep doing it. Very bad idea.

I don’t know if people are just trying to look flashy by doing random focus attacks or they really think a regular attack is coming their way.

Or maybe the concept of it in general hasn’t gotten through to many people yet and they still don’t know wtf they are doing.

Yeah, I think it’s silly. Too bad Izuna Drop doesn’t come out for me 35% of the time.

**This might have already been mentioned, but I just wanna make sure. Is anyone purposely trading on jump-ins with EX walldive? I’ve been able to get the ultra off of it at the expense of a bit of my health. If you let them get in deep enough on you so you’ll still be near the ground a bit, it knocks them high enough when you trade that if you instantly charge db as soon as you go up for the walldive, after it trades, you can spring up and do the ultra (with respect to how far you are away from a wall on either side) before they land. Gotta make sure you know the trajectory as always though.

Just wanted to make sure y’all knew about it. I can get it 2/5 times or so. It’s a shame you have to do all that to get your ultra off though**

Whoa, nice one, Stuckey. I will try this out, and let you know how it goes~ That sounds like a neat trick, but you also need to be a master marksman to be good at it, it seems. =P

Yeah that seems like a tricky one, something you have to be able to do off reaction as well. Hopefully I can remember to give that a shot next time it happens. Good tip nonetheless.

hey when you do his forward flip attack into ex foward flip attack do you have to charge both times or is there some way to cancel into it like those special moves into super combo things? I did the combo in the trial challenge but I just barely got it done and I see in the video the guy does it really fast so fast I don’t see how he could have charged it twice like I did…it is a charge move right!!!
