Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Um… because you can FADC it? Never use it myself, but that’s pretty much the only advantage it has. Not that that’s a particularly impressive advantage, but it’s something.

oh i knew there was better options
was jus stating the only use i knew it had

As Dragonite said, you can combo it off of df.RH, and also c.LK or c.MK. Also, as a followup to df.RH, EX Scarlet Terror does slightly more damage than EX Walldive, and EX walldive only does slightly more damage than a RH flipkick (according to the wiki).

for some reason i can never get the df.RH -->scarlet terror

I can’t either, but it’s for good reason. How can you do it if you you need charge db for scarlet? I try rolling from db to df hitting and holding hk and then rolling to forward and releasing HK but that doesn’t work. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, or is there a better technique?

Or do you just have enough time to charge if you’re fast enough?

Looking forward to this insight. I’m at my wit’s end here.

I was happy to find that claw dive beats Honda’s headbutts.

What do people do after a FA now? I’ve just been sticking to :df::hk: into the ex’d wall dive or whatever it is … sorry, I don’t really know the proper way of saying stuff since I’m sorta new at SF … is there anything better?

Also, when jumping in I’ve been doing jumping :hp: into standing :hp: (close in so it does the double slash thing) and cancelling after the first slash into a :hp: roll. Is there something else I should be doing?

Thanks for any help.

Easy combo to pull off from Jumping In:

:uf: :hk: -> :db: :mk: -> :hk: Scarlet Terror

If you want to cancel into Rolling Claw, try that one:

:uf: :hp: -> :db: :lp: -> :db: :mp: -> :lp: Rolling Claw

You can cancel :db: :mp: -> :lp: Rolling claw or :db: :lp: -> :mp: Rolling Claw very well, to put some additional pressure on your opponent.

(I put in :db: instead of :d: - because thats the way you execute it  )

Are those really stronger than a HP Rolling claw? 0_o The Scarlet Terror, is that the walldive or flipkick? I don’t really know the names … if the walldive, doesn’t it have to be EX’d to hit?

Scarlet Terror is the flipkick

Scarlet Terror = Flip Kick - doesn’t need to be EX (the only thing EX does on Flip Kick = Projectile Immunity and cancellable out of LK Flip Kick)

I just really got owned by my own self. Another Vega, just harassing me with wall claw, wall dive and HP Roll. Couldn’t do anything about it

Ah, then what I do already does more damage than that for jump ins … I think … or similar. =\

Is there anything other for focus attacks that I can do other than df hk into ex’d walldive?

Edit: Oh, just a tad less, ah well.

throw? lol I use df HK into cr. HP if I don’t have bar or standing HP, link cr. MP. While I think you can do df + HK into scarlet terror.

Can anyone pull off that last combo in challenge mode, something like cr. MK, link LKx2, link cr. MK or something.

Been trying that last challenge. I can’t get the second lk to hit to save my life. I get out of range somehow.

Exactly! Such a useless combo anyway.

His best post FA combo is. cl.HP c.MPxxEX Walldive. However, that combo won’t work on Ryu, Ken, Fuerte, Honda, Vega, and Rufus (however, it will combo if Rufus is in the corner). Mind you, this list is as of the arcade release, and it’ll have to be updated with console characters.

If I’m not sure about the character, then I’ll usually just df.RH then EX Walldive or RH Flipkick.

After jumpins, you can do the cl.HP, c.MPxxEX Walldive if you’re sure it’s deep enough, or you can c.LK/c.MKxxRH Flipkick. Mind you, the flipkick will whiff on crouching characters for the most part.

As far as doing the df.RH into flipkicks is concerned, I personally slam the stick back to down-back as soon as I input the df.RH, wait for Vega to land, pause a bit, then input the flipkick. If you notice, after the df.RH, you have a surprising amount of time to combo them. You can practice the pause timing with EX walldive if you’re unsure.

I have a tendency to miss his FA, df + HK, to ex wall dive in the corner unless I use a claw dive and not izuna drop after the ex wall dive.

In the corner, I tend to let the opponent fall a bit before going for the Izuna drop.
