Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

Oh hey, dude you’re actually not bad with Vega, you just needed to fake people out more. All those fake wall dives you saw (maybe not, but I was doing them anyway) were to bait Shoryukens so I can land safely and have enough distance to land a df.HK or FP. Besides, in our Vega mirror match you came too close for my comfort.

But that Bison dude was just insane. I think between you and I he had an 8 win streak. LOL.

And it’s not wasting money, it’s learning from many different mistakes. We’re part of the lucky few who get to play SF4 before its official console release, just think how ahead we are than the people waiting for console.

^^Thanks Yea we had most of CTF until Bison/Ken players.

1.I will try the fake out next time(just fond out it build meter).

2.I still need to learn Cp.Mp<Ex Izuna drop.

I am “bison dude”. GGs to you guys. I wish I could give you tips on how to pwn with Vega but I don’t really know how he’s supposed to be played. Only tip I can give is make sure you’re blocking my crossup bullshit, ALL OF IT, or else you just take bullshit damage and get knocked down again.

Also maybe play more cautiously, use more pokes, jump backward, make the time run out.

Speaking of cr.MP -> EX Izuna drop, I think that combo only works depending on where you are positioned on the screen. Since Vega seems to fly to the wall nearest to HIM, you probably can’t do this combo if you are cornered, but you probably can if your opponent is near a corner. This is the only combo I haven’t been able to pull off, but I’ve seen it many times on videos from japanese players.

And yeah, we were destroying all those non-dictator guys

Major GGs to you man, you seriously know how to rape with Bison.

It wasn’t your cross-up that got to me, it was that you weren’t falling for my fake Barcelona’s and that you were able to punish my attacks that other players(probably character specific) weren’t punishing, so I had no idea what to do in the situation vs. him. Either way, I learned a lot of valuable things to keep in mind when playing a Bison who knows his game. Thanks

Good stuff man GGs.

Yea i was trying to see if can attack/Grab you out of it but it seemed not.

Thanks for the advice.

So uh…you guys going back Saturday by any chance?

Me most likely.

Cool, I’m gonna be there definitely. I’m going to do more research on what you can cancel his close FP into.

Like I said.
His super is just a higher risk/reward normal walldive
the super izuna timin is same way as an EX izuna. it has pretty much the same range.

Also, when Vega does a move that involves the wall(any Walljump,Sky high claw and Bloody high claw)
Actually Vega flies to the wall YOU choose. When you do the up motion on the stick, do UB or UF
UF gets you to the wall Vega’s facing and UB gets you to the wall behind Vega.
it’s important to remember that.

The only problem with cr.MP -> EX Walljump is that it can easily miss crouching characters if they’re too far. remember cr.MK can combo into EX wall jump also, and it hits low!

Dict. and Gouki match I’m still trying to figure out myself. I only got 1 great Gouki player where I play, and No dictator players. at UFO I’m dealing with mostly Sagat/Zangief/Ryu players.

Ex walldive is so good, especially against tall characters. As Gief, even just walking at full screen becomes risky, let alone jumping, poking, or green handing.

Personally I don’t find Zangief to be a problem for Vega at all, and supposedly the match-up is 5-5.

Here is some guy using Scarlet Terror to its real potential

And here is the same guy showing how to play a clutch ass Vega

Dude is that frame data real? It doesn’t make any sense how the hell can c.MP be -1 on hit if it combos into EX WallDive?

That just means it’s a cancel, not a link. Where do you see Vega frame data, though?

Here.

Notice the data on EX flipkick and EX Roll.

tips:

-bison’s AA game sucks, but his ground game is good, so you definitely want to abuse vega’s jump ins.
-super > ultra.
-your only practical way (if you’re playing anyone good) to land the ultra is if you crumple stun first.
-blanka is hands down vega’s worst matchup at this point.
-j.rh, cr. short, rh flip kick will hit every character. this IS vega’s new bnb.
-any roll can be cancelled into vega’s super. so, yes, jump in, cr.strong, jab roll xx super is very good right now.
-wiffing walldives for meter is alright, but there are ways of punishing it, even at full screen.

also, on a side-note, wtf happened to this thread? people used to actually post useful things, not ask a question several times when it’s already been answered. like, the only thing even remotely useful on this page (before my post) came from a fucking gief player. he probably felt bad because of how horrible this thread has become. did any of you know that gief can ultra you if your df rh is blocked? did any of you know that it’s never safe to walldive abel if he has ultra? did any of you know that you can jump throw sim if he teleports next to you on reaction? seriously… all this time you guys are wasting talking about shit that’s been discussed, when you could be trying to figure out something that’s actually useful.

p.s. don’t link vids of shitty vega players, please. like, the only videos that should even be mentioned are nisepachi’s.

p.p.s i’m sorry if i offended some of you, but it’s hella late/early, and this thread has been giving me a headache for weeks. for future reference, if any of you have a question about vega, please do some research before you ask. thanks.

First of all, let me make this clear: I haven’t played the game yet, and won’t be able to do so until the console release.

With that in mind, here are some questions:

Wha? So LP Rolling Crystal Flash super canceled into the super WILL combo? Does that mean that the super hits on the way up like the EX wall dive? I haven’t seen it in any vid. Actually, I have only seen the super in one vid, period.

Also, regarding the EX Rolling Crystal Flash: According to the frame data on the wiki page, it has EXACTLY the same properties (frame data, damage, stun, etc.) as the HP version… Is that a typo, or maybe it does have some hidden property, like being wholly invincible? It seems weird that the startup, number of hits, damage, etc is exactly the same.

I know ex-roll is Goes through fireballs, tho you low attacks can hit you out of it.

From what I see there are only two videos of Nisepachi.
