Uh I got some bad news for you. That combo doesn’t work anymore either. You can only combo sweep from the command B+HK.
During my time with the beta the only thing I felt I could rely on is cr. LK, st. LP, SRK(when you’re really close to your opponent). If you stick in a st. LK then the SRK whiffs. Ending that string with tatsu works but then you have to make sure your opponent is standing. And you have to be very quick to react or you lose the SRK combos that always works.
No yeah I meant is the only thing I get why they took it out it was way too easy to do, now if a bunch of other characters can combo into sweep I’ll be miffed
Tatsu is essentially only great if you got super snice that’s now the only thing he can do after other than that, it’s just a weak ass combo ender , not even sure if it leaves you with great positioning.
I finally had a chance to try Vega but didn’t get to comment until now. I think he feels incredibly different, really reminds me of CvS2 Vega in many ways from lack of normal cancels.
I’m still wrapping my head around some of the inputs. Some make sense, like ASE makes perfect sense. QCF+P to sheathe claw does not make sense to me. I really want that input to be the god damned roll Roll has always been punch, always! It feels unnatural to use kick buttons to roll. SRK+K feels pretty good for FBA though, and I’m in love with the ID/Slash input changes as I always hated getting slash instead of ID when I wanted ID instead in the past games. Huge improvement.
No cancel on light kicks? What’s up with that, even cr.LK?? s.LK and cr.LK should be able to cancel… s.MP has pretty nice range, and so does s.MK which is surprising. They seem to have relatively the same range, and that looks like it could throw off opponents. s.MK having good range is a pleasant surprise.
Kara throw using MP prior to Throw, but instead of moving forward he moves backwards. I wonder if that could be a neat trick to use.
GID has like, no range at all.
So far, I really like him. The only things I wish would change is for roll to be mapped to P again, and for s.LK and cr.LK to cancel into special attacks. If roll changed to P, then it would be nice to have claw sheathe mapped to PPP. Changing it to PPP would also help avoid -edge getting in the way of canceling to roll.

Sweep on block, VTC, immediate super is inescapable (must be blocked). I tried mashing dp, holding up, etc, but you are in so much blockstun you can’t actually do anything. Results in guard break but you can’t follow up after with anything so I guess its pointless unless you want a chip out. Also goes without saying that means sweep VTC is completely safe.
Well, the final hit in CT is a kick now. So visually, there’s no more connection to rolling and punch buttons.
No cancels on light kicks is fine. But you glanced over the fact that you can finally link out of c.LK, granting Vega an empty jump combo off of his c.LK. You can link out of his light kicks. Plus, why would you want to cancel of his light kicks and leave the damage at that? Link out of them for much more damage and ease of hit confirming.

20+ years of habit of associating rolls with punch That’s why, lol. Also, if you could cancel cr.LK you could -edge roll since it uses kick. I’m aware of linking from light kicks to light punches, which you can then cancel into roll from there.
wait you can no longer follow up after CA guard break? did they increase the recovery time on it?
also, I’m not really excited about b+HK, HP link because he had f+HP, c.HP available before, and that did the same thing and more (can cancel without VT)
Fucked around with him a little more. May have found some shit, not sure if it’s been covered or not.
Crossup LK, cr.LP, do his command grab. You’re close enough to do the LP version if you walk forward very slightly. Same with EX grab, you have to very slightly walk forwards. Seems like good mixup.
They’re jumping in, cr.HP does Crush Counter, you can do V-Trigger then super. I was able to do EX Izuna Drop but you have to be right next to them when you Crush Counter so I don’t think it’s that practical.
His overhead doesn’t seem terribly practical unless you’ve made them scared and conditioned them to stop hitting buttons.
