i was actually getting a lot of use out of his overhead, it moves very far forward and isn’t terribly slow.

“Very far” forward? Not really. Also it’s kinda slow. It’s still useable.

This character is everything I wanted him to be based on the footage and little time I was able to test him. Time to finally get into Street Fighter! Cannot wait till February.

They should make him a bit faster for the final game.

He is already plenty fast, at least compared to the rest of the current cast, which says a lot about the actual speed of the game.

Bafael has some nice Crush Counter combos for Vega. Starting at 6:50:

A bit all over the place, though. In the CC combos I’ve posted earlier, I’ve explored all three CCs and posted CA and V-Trigger + CA combos. However, Bafael’s second and fourth CC claw c.HP combos actually edge out my CC claw c.HP combos that I’ve posted earlier, which were:

CC claw c.HP, claw s.HP xx HK CT xx CA
480 dmg / 318 stun

CC claw c.HP, claw s.HP xx V-Trigger, CA
531 dmg / 270 stun

Whoever’s in charge of the OP post can feel free to replace those two.

It seems claw c.HP is the best Crush Counter as it keeps the opponent grounded for more hits.

Ah, something I’ve forgotten to hot down. Does anyone know how much damage and stun both c.HP (claw and BH) do?

b+HK is way way faster and plus on block, though.

How good is his standing HK against air normals?

It’s a very good antiair from a distance where srk would whiff. I used it a lot, and most of the times it hits as a counter hit and you can juggle with other moves.

What are your answers when they’re in your face? (apart from “Don’t let them get in your face”)

V-Skill is unreliable as you can get caught by low attacks. V-Reversals give a bit of breathing room but you must be willing to sacrifice the meter.
There’s no get out of my face special move like db-f+K that he used to have in previous versions and you can’t block for ever…

The overhead is really good because 1) No shitty focus attacks 2) Extends Vega forward 3) The hitbox is pretty high, so if someone tries to jump, it’ll hit them out of their jump startup unlike in SFIV where the hitbox is really low.

I didn’t realize the hitbox on the overhead was high. Still, he can get jabbed out of it.

The overhead also has airborne frames where it beats lows and throws. Not instantly, but it’s a thing. It’s good to use sometimes if you want to float over a shoto low MK or something.

i found some very interesting stuff that i will keep from posting until the game release, you’re not fooling me Capcom, but thats still dosnt change the fact that he’s ass tier

something that i noticed and couldnt believe is that he has no 3 frame meterless effective punish, 80% of the time you are too far to connect anything else beside cr.lp ( you can totally forget st.lp as the range is total crap ), and guess what ? cr.lp dosnt combo into anything else beside st.lp … see where am going ? not even st.lk work, so you are left either cr.lp > srk or cr.lp > into any special

in the case where you are close enough to land st.lp , you’re pretty much fucked too since 80% of time peoples will be in crouch position, so tatsu is out of consideration

now spending 1 ex bar will get you something with ex tatsu ( ex srk can be risky as it hitbox is total crap just like other srk ), but his meter build so freaking slow that it mean no super for you, building a full super meter seems nearly impossible in 1st round unless its a dragged out match, and even if you manage to do it, you’re most likely at very low life and your opponent too, meaning you better keep that super for 2nd round unless you’re willing to waste it for a guaranteed kill ( and that mean no super in 2nd round )

how fucked up is this when one of his coolest move and fun to use ( his super ) cant be used in a proper decent level of play ? thats like if your ultra meter in SF4 dosnt build fast enough , and you’re not able to land a mets in any situation
