yeah, but i mean they aren’t gonna nerf the move itself. the st. lk nerf seems like it’s kind of inevitable too. but maybe i’m wrong and they’ll let it stay since it only does anything notable in barehanded stance.
All I have to say is that this game seems very good right now. Obviously there are a few balance issues (imo) but I’m confident that will be sorted before release. Vega is everything I could have hoped for, he’s just too fun to play as. I’m certainly not looking forward to going back to usf4 after playing this. March can’t come soon enough.
I’ve added this to the 1st post, there isn’t much in terms of dedicated 1st posts in SF5 character threads (especially compared back in i.e. the pre-launch MvC3 days)
So it’s good to have something there
Also, as someone else already mentioned, I feel Vegas v reversal is pretty garabage. When I used it in the corner it made practically no difference at all, which is concerning considering that is where he needs it most. Do you think it would be too OP to make a poke that would give him some breathing room? Sort of like a dead angle in GG.
getting out of the corner for free just because you blocked a hit is way too much. something that pushes the guy in front of us back a bit would be ok but i think capcom -wants- vega to feel weak in the corner.
Yes I found that out the hard way. I honestly don’t see a use for it atm, especially considering how rewarding his v trigger can be. Right now it seems your only option in the corner is mash jab lIke your life depends on it or make a good read (guess right). Otherwise you’re screwed. It sucks because although Vega has really good tools for controlling space, against certain characters (Mika and even Karin to an extent) it seems they always find a way in eventually
Doesn’t have to be completely free, could always make the recovery just bad enough that if you bait it with a jab or short they recover in time to punish.
While I don’t know every characters’ v-reversal yet, I think Vega is the only character where it not only isn’t reducing corner pressure, using it actually makes corner pressure worse.
B+Hk, St. Hp links?
That seems quite interesting.
So does B+Hk, St. Hp xx Lk Tatsu xx CA/or/EX DP work?
Phase1 Beta I would primarily use Cr. Mp after B+Hp
Best meterless (super at least) combo I found that’s practical was: St.MP, cr.HP VTC St.HK, MP DP. Did ~300/500 damage/stun, could cancel the dp into Denjin for ~500/700, but I usually choose to just save the meter for better zoning and chip. If he gets nerfed anymore, there will be no reason at all to use him.
