I don’t know man, I thought that was basically the entire point of the v reversal. It functions like a dead angle, you spend bar in order to reset the situation but your opponent can also make a read to stuff it and punish you. It’s fine that some characters have better v reversals than others, but nobody should be stuck with what appears to be a useless reversal.
V-Reversals in general seem pretty…I will hesitate to say useless but just not worth it, specially for a character like Vega who wants his V-Trigger active to pose some threat as an anti-air, fireball punish, combo extender and even an option to do a super off it.
Hm interesting I tried the combo myself and I was unable to get it to hit, meatys are definitely a possibility, I remember when I was in training mode I found that st.MP’s reelback animation makes him sway back then forward which in some situations like st.mp st.mp may make the second st.MP hit meaty. But then you have the recording of just st.MP cr.HK which i have no answer for lol
a small thing i found cool was st.mp counterhit can link into st.HP which means you can vtrigger cancel it into cr.HP dp super, do the first link too early and it target combos like normal so have to delay
edit: wait, rewatched your video and the st.mp st.mp sweep didnt even combo but the st.mp sweep did, so confused
It felt like it had quite a lot of inv, possibly through the whole animation, and I heard it was actually safe? If it’s so, not only is it really good for sure, I’d say it’s the best reversal in the game for it’s potential alone.
It should basically turn any safe special, especially EX’s which have long animations, into a free full punish, if timed right.
As for getting out of the corner, don’t forget you have EX FBA. Any opening in your opp’s blockstring and you can c.LP > EX FBA the hell out of the corner. If it happens to hit, better yet, right? ^^’
Been testing how unsafe max distance cr.mk fireball is on the cast, so far ive found that ken can reversal ex tatsu on that for a guaranteed punish, also super
If you combine this Ryu’s ability to v trigger off a bunch of normals with the ryu in beta 1 who actually had some pretty sick combos and a decent parry ♢
cvs2/st tactics works with vega in sf5! (Neutral jump hp/hk like a dive kick character) I’m so happy they got rid of his neutral jump hp and hk from sf4 and gave him back his original moves
This is how Vega should be like, not that gimmicky bs version from sf4.
Does anyone know how his v-skill work? I think it has some invincibility but not too sure. I know there’s some info out on the web but I don’t feel like sifting through useless info or watching a long video.
Wait so mashing lows will stuff it? Lol I didn’t know that, I thought it was invul to everything… Luckily no one I played fucked me up for it by doing a walkup c.mk to full combo when I’m twirling like a moron >_>
