Cross-up>mp>tc is useless now.
You’re always better off going for B st.HK after a cross-up into TC since it does more damage, is easier to confirm and stands the opponent up.
Since MK tatsu doesn’t hit crouchers anymore you have to do st.MP>cr.HP>MK Tatsu for corner-carry.
If find the st.MP difficult to confirm into cr.HP though, but I’m terrible at confirming anyways.
when i played at NYCC ryu wasnt this bad and he was able to do the corner combos so im thinking this is version of him is actually the final build version of him
I’m sad about the fact that Crimson Terror is now his main combo finisher instead of the classy Izuna Drop, even with 1 EX bar…
Well, aside from that, can someone tell me if the second hit of Matador Flash (s.HP xx s.HP target combo) can be cancelled into a special, V-Trigger or Critical Art?
Hihi thanks for sharing this tech Just used it on this poor fella. Just another ragequit. Feels like SF4 early days all over again… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnFrK_2dNHY
So as the beta comes to an end I gotta say I am very (EXTREMELY) pleased with Vega, it seems the SF5 mechanics favor him more than the SF4 system, but more importantly he is tons of fun…sadly we have seen how Capcom deals with fun lately…
I could not find use for his new move, Aurora Edge or something?
cr.mp with no claw is a nasty piece of work.
I find his rolls more reliable than EX FBA, specially without the hardknock down, plus rolls carries them to the corner.
HP version as anti-air, not a very good anti-air as you have to do it quite early, but you can follow-up with EX-FBA, V-Trigger and/or super if it hits
MP version will connect after a Crush Counter Roundhouse
LP version is a good tool for chip damage after a blocked cr LP. You can also use it to combo after a FBA hits a grounded opponent for a decent 2 hit combo.
EX version can be comboed from st LP and cr LP. You can also use it to combo after EX FBA (for instance anti-air Aurora Edge -> EX FBA -> EX Aurora Edge)
I keep hearing that Karin and Mika are his toughest matchups, but I’d like to know more. What makes them his hardest matchups? I’m guessing if he can keep them out, he can win.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any matches in or MU experience as a result. But at least I was able to mess around in training for an hour when my friend came down, it was the day that no one could find matches.
in my experience karin can just totally out-footsie vega. any character with really good lows can bully the fuck out of vega because they’ll go under his best pokes. i just take my claw off right at the start of the round and try to play aggro vs her. up close vega might even have the adv if you can get in.
mika is pretty much the opposite, you outclass her at range but the second she gets in she can just end the round. and she has a lot of ways to get in, all of which you have an answer for, but you can’t cover them all at once. so it’s almost a matter of time.
BH c.mp is a nice tool, but honestly it seems like pretty standard fare for a cancel-able medium attack in a Capcom fighter. Not like a crazy good problem normal or anything so extreme.
