It was a really good move. It shrunk your hitbox in just the right way, it was safeish, lead to good damage and I loved it as a whiff punisher. Such a good footsie tool. That said, it would probably lose a bit of its power because throw ranges are small in SFV. One of itās cooler function was to use it to hit crouch techs when youāre threatening them with Vegaās massive kara-throw.
In the absence of characters i care about it think vega is looking like the character in the starting roster Iām gravitating too, cant wait to get my hands on him in the beta
Considering the loss of cr.LPx2, cr.MP, that one looks like a good confirm for V-Trigger, it gives plenty of time to check if the opponent was standing or not, plus starts with st.MP which is a good poke.
Also, I didnāt see him try standing V-Trigger into EX FBA, which makes me suspect it isnāt possible, despite earlier claims in this thread (it migh have changed in recent builds, too).
That damage
Too bad Capcom is probably gonna nerf all of that or remove some possible links/juggles, because theyāre fucking stupid and canāt allow people have fun in an SF game
What is that back claw move at 0:43? Looks like a close normal but i know proximity moves are out and the only command normals were buster claw and mercury peice.
And cr. MK links into st.MP⦠Close enough and if pushback allows, cr.MK, st.MP, cr.MP will be possible, which is damn cool and an easy confirm off of a low into V-TriggerxxSuper.
We didnāt see that in the video. If you meant what we saw at 0:12, that was c.MK linking into claw on s.LP. And that would make sense as weāve seen c.MK, c.LK xx EX ASE in Vegaās reveal trailer.
This might be a training mode quote. Anyways, the guy shows Vegaās command list. Some moves and move names have been revised.
Claw off -> bare-handed attack
Claw on -> claw attack
Switch Claw -> Switching Claw
Bloody Rain CA has additional input of QCBx2 + P.
The Bloody Kiss V-Trigger now has names for all of its variations.
s.Bloody Kiss -> Bloody Kiss - Torero
c.Bloody Kiss -> Bloody Kiss - Rojo
j.Bloody Kiss -> Bloody Kiss - Azul
Buster Claw, as some of you have noted, had its input changed.
DF+HP -> F+HP
Personally, I donāt like that change. As Iāve noted before, the DF motion assured that I wouldnāt get Buster Claw accidentally when walking forward and going for s.HP.
4:00 - Maybe this was common knowledge, but I wasnāt aware of it.
Some of the combos in the beginning are pretty nice too. Vega gets excellent damage off his jump in attacks, easily 30-40% as long as he has V-trigger or some meter. I think heās looking pretty strong, but I feel theyāll nerf the RCF. There really isnāt any reason to since you can jab him afterward, but weāll see how Capcom handles it.
Not gonna lie, Iām already tired of seeing roll, c.lp, roll in every video. Has anyone seen a hard knock down? I know Capcom is trying to eliminate them but im sure hes got something.
0:09 What was going on with that jump, it looks delayed.
Hmm most players seem to forget about his new claw move, and I know they are not trying to be practical with these combos but unless there is an easy way to land FBA on a grounded opponent a lot of these combos are mostly for show.
Canāt wait to see what you guys come out with the beta in the near future.
