I’m not sure why only mp dps have invincibility. Seems counter intuitive telling new players “hey use your weaker version to antiair”.
After watching that uk stream, his s.lk and s.mp are godlike. Imo his s.lk is leagues and bounds above ken’s (thankfully) and is going to be the cornerstone of his spacing game. Cr.mk has poor reach and it’s too hard to space out a fireball with it to make it unpunishable.
Vega is easily the most creative and original character in SF in my opinion.
Everything from his personality, to his design, to his moveset.
He’s a Spanish, narcissistic, matador-ninja, who’s extremely fashionable and wears a mask. Like who drew this guy up haha.
A ninja that uses a claw, but still conceals his identity as a normal ninja would, but for his own narcissistic reasons (to protect his face), was simply brilliant.
The normal version. It is again very slow, the pause on the wall is still there and he doesn’t knock opponents up in the air.
about FBA, do you mean that he just can’t knock up in any way? cause i guess he isn’t knocking up cause he’s clawless, there’s a moment where you can see him attacking with the claw and knocking up
His st.hp and it is in the direction of an uppercut.
i was wondering, what if that’s a command normal? since there are no far and close normals, that would work… i can’t imagine vega without his standard st.hp o_o what you think?
RCF. This is the new ender for RCF. It seems to be an overhead. I pray for it to be an overhead.
that’s an overhead for sure, love it! and i wonder… what if we get the usual RCF when you got the claw? and you know what would be absolutely cool? being able to sheathe/unsheathe your claw while rolling
Due to the huge hitting visual effect, I think this is his cr.hp.
IMHO that may be his clawless c.mp, he’s attacking with his left hand which would have no claw even if it was unsheathe!
It seems to be a target combo (cr.mk+cr.mk) or just the longest cr.mk in history
the target combo makes sense… but what if that’s a link like cr.mk, cr.lk? that would be a huge cr.lk but who knows… i wonder cause atm there’s no “new animation” made just for target combos, dunno if you see what i mean!
I don’t think they would make new normals for clawless attacks. Combofiend specifically says “a new command grab and new attack properties”. And he would have the claw on his left hand as he is one of the few left-handed chars.
unsheathing the claw during the roll seems like a brilliant idea btw, but only if the claw attack hits low. That way the opponent will have to watch your claw to see which way he should block.
I also think new animation for a target combo is expecting too much, but it seems to be the only possible thing. It can’t be his slide, as we already see it in a screenshot. Can’t be a single cr.mk, as it’s too long. One of them can’t be a cr.lk as they have the same range and hitstun. So we’re only left with the option of a target combo.
About FBA, just like before, normal fba doesn’t knock up on its way to the wall.
I hardly find it possible for that HP to be a command normal. It resembles his SF4 counterpart (Although much cooler). The only problem I see is its knocking the opponent down.
While lacking true reversals in SF4, it’s crazy to think his v-skill is one. SF5 is gonna be Dodge City.
I do like Vega, but I hope he has some real weaknesses. We didn’t see him combo off of c.MP. I wonder if he can’t cancel it anymore so jab to c.MP is more like a target combo and good poke tool than being able to confirm into more damage at very little risk.
I feel like his combo potential is going to be pretty restricted as it’s ever been, regardless of him being a charge or motion character. Vega is going to have to get in to do damage. But at least the combos will be easier.
he equips it on left hand by design yeah, but when on left side he got it on right hand (check your cr.mp screenshot) like happens in every sf game, so dunno… i doubt he would use his clawless hand for cr.hp ._.
and ohhh, now i understand what you mean with fba and its way to the wall… what i meant was that he doesn’t knockdown without the claw when slashing after FBA, that’s why he can combo after the insta-recovery, but he does knock up instead when he got the claw on
and really dunno about that cr.mk thingie, guess we’ll have to wait and see
yep i see that’s the sf4 counterpart of hp, but a vega without long range hp? dunno…
