Hmm I dunno, VTrigger hitting crouching opponents is pretty big to the point it feels Capcom added that by mistake.

I am a little a annoyed with the rest of the changes, I wish we could explore the buffs more throughtly.

yep, the nerf hammer was too obvious…

but i can’t believe he is the only nerfed character, so maybe the comunity can take notes and capcom may revert some nerfs (let’s hope so)

Mika got nerfed too apparently. They nerfed the hitbox/hit-stun for her j.LK and they removed the mid-screen wall bounce from her Peach Throw. They also apparently (?) nerfed her EX QCF+Punch move.

Yeah, I don’t think there’s a reason to throw the towel, and simply think any of this is final. Fortunately they’re working on balancing the chars, and the way I see this going is, if a char seems strong and dominant, they’ll kinda nerf the hell out of all of his best tools, and then adjust based on feedback and gameplay from the beta tests and tourneys.

I’m thinking this is how they’re doing their reasoning, and it’s been a constant back and forth with buffs and nerfs, and honestly I think that’s the way it should be at this stage of the game, so they’re going at it right.

I just really hope they keep hearing our feedback, and consider that as important (or more even, arguably) as balance within the roster, is that people have fun playing the chars, and it’s not fun to have no tools that offer variety of gameplay for the characters. Ryu seems to have lost too much in these last builds, and now Vega kinda seems to have taken too much of a big hit. And like them, there are other characters in this situation.

Not happy about hearing these things. He was perfect. I thought his beta incarnation was glorious. Enough tools to make him a viable threat and enough drawbacks to ground him a bit. Whatever happened to the no nerf policy that Capcom talked about earlier during the year? I’ll sound like a broken record talking about 3S but every single character has some OP shenanigan that was situational and hard to execute, which lead to very hype moments. I want to see more of that. Making the game honest is one thing but making it less fun for the sake of ‘‘honesty’’…ugh.

yeah making everyone bland is definitely not fun… hopefully they’re still messing around to see what adjustments they should keep or removed for the final version. Making all the cast very “honest” doesn’t sound like a fun game to me, some characters should be better in some aspects (eg: Mobility with Rashid, Zoning with Sim, Grabs with Gief etc) and also have some drawbacks in other aspects to balance it out.
Vega was in a good spot, good buttons and footsies and situational anti-airs (that if used properly can net some good damage, RIP to that) and sucks when put in the defensive or in the corner. Better links and buttons barehand but they wrecked that too…

Idk, the “nerf everything that looks good” approach they’ve been doing so far is making me pessimistic about the final version but we’ll wait and see. Combofiend pls :’(

I really hope they fix ex.FBA missing point-blank on crouchers even “big” characters like Bison and Birdie are getting completely bypassed off a single cr.MP xx ex.FBA.

Yeah, EX FBA has its place and use for the juggle after ASE.

FBA is so much better in this game. It seems really safe on block. He doesn’t bounce afterwards anymore unless you do nothing with the FBA… With how it is now, I really don’t care that EX FBA doesn’t hit low anyway.

FBA looks more useful on it’s own, but it definitely isn’t the go-to combo ender anymore with EX CT doing more damage and corner carry.
It also lost the utility of being a far range punisher like in SF4 coz of the shitty hitbox, atm it’s even worse than vanilla sf4’s hitbox ~__~

Is EX fba izuna drop a hard knockdown? If it is I can see it being an option, either go for damage with EX CT or for oki with EX FBA.
There’s also EX fba slash into VT but idk if it’s worth it unless it kills.

Yeah FBA is so much better in the neutral, but still, it’s a pitty that EX FBA has close to no use if ASE really loses it’s juggle state for good =/

FBA is still very punishable, it seems to me.

Not on block =P it’s just quite slow in startup, but mixing up early izuna drops to catch air to air attempts with fake ins and regular deep crossup slashes you can find uses for it, since once you manage to get past an AA you’re either getting in, or you’re safe.

Can’t attempt it against shoto’s and other chars with good meterless and invuln AA’s though, 'cause it gives far too much time to react AA.

Anyone feel like his command normals input windows are too lenient or large? I’ve played other games with command normals and it seems like sometimes they get in the way. CvS2 had the same command normal inputs for his kicks and they never got in the way.

Does anyone else also think because FBA is with kicks that CA is also with kicks and get thrown off?
