cr.lp is still +1/+4.

I could swear that I’ve done it multiple times already. It even worked in Vanilla too… I can’t be that crazy!
i think its got to do with the move retracting quickly or something man.im not sure without the proper frame data but if you’re used to doing it in the vanilla version, then it should be twice as easy right now.
I’m pretty sure it was never possible in Vanilla, maybe you got a counterhit or someone wasn’t blocking when you thought it combo’d?
Thanks for that link Darkfroggy! I see that active frames on jumping normals were NOT reduced as some people claim.
Also, POM got 1 fr added to startup, but 1 fr removed from disadvantage on hit/block (0 fr disadvantage on hit now).
Backflip recovery is exactly the same, all RCF startups are unchanged, SHC has same disadvantage on hit, Barcelona recovery is the same.
Proof? Source? Other than your “feeling”?
I was able to pull it off in Vanilla. I failed occasionally here and there, and it’s the same in SSFIV. Link difficulty is the same to me. It’s probably just that linking or the game in general somehow feels different. It’s almost as if I would be playing on an unfamiliar TV.
I really don’t know if I can trust the data from the prima guide but according to them it’s still a 1F link.
I asked that same question about how they could make the jabs easier if the frame data was the same, and Kamisama made a good point. He said that they probably just changed the input leniency so that the acceptable window for input is larger, even though the frame info is unchanged.
it felt different for me too
but maybe we’re all just experiencing some placebo effect shit
also cr.lk may have linked into cr.lp if you hit it on the 2nd active frame
Super plays almost the exact same as vanilla.
People who claim that it’s “faster” or “more aggressive” are lying. It’s still as turtley as ever. Vega, Rose, and Fuerte are still bad.
Not much actually changed, a lot of bad matchups remain.
i also don’t think jab linking has changed, still only get like 60% of my jabs to link
i haven’t missed c. jab c. strong like once though =) now i’m getting good enough at hit-confirmnig that if i see a c. jab connet, my immediate impulse is to combo into the c. strong. Also hit confirming into st. RH more.
I actually think that all this “it’s easier to link!” is related to the fact that the claw hits further.
What that translates into is that there’s more chances that the cr.lp connects on the second active frame, leaving you with +5 advantage, giving you a 2 frame window to connect the next attack…
Although, this is all theory of course!
Gameplay seems faster to me… It seems like recovery frames have been shaved here and there, and jumps are quicker. I’m seeing a lot less turtling but its still there.
Thank you, Capcom, for the overhead.
It’s more aggressive because dp fadc Ultra ect is weaker.
Probably the wrong place for this, but Destin - I saw you in the leaderboards yesterday, haha!
Has anyone else noticed Sako/RF/Mago there?
my execution is ass lol
I just try to make Tatsu not hate me
i honestly do not understand whats going on man.
in vanilla street fighter 4,me practicing the crlps all day along everyday did not keep me from mucking it all up when it came to adapting to different tv lag(the darn link was soo sensitive!)
but now i can do them in arcades,my friend’s and my place pretty consistently without any adapting
take what you will from me but the link is certainly easier to do compared to vanilla.
and i would always take the prima frame data with a barrel of salt, these people would go back to collecting data for old moves only if they "suspect"
it has changed.
Hey laxlight, played against cat-k in super yet? Is cat-k keeping vega?
As some of you might know, one of Guile’s buffs is that it’s easier to link his normals then when it was with vanilla. I just did a comparison between the prima frame data and the vanilla frame data and the prima is basically a copy paste of it but with U2 added. That being said, the normals have not been updated IMO.
J.FP, S.FP, C.MP, EX Izuna drop now works on shotos, fei and el fuerte.
I haven’t tested it on other people that it use to miss in Vanilla SF4.
I apologize if this is already comman knowledge…
It was uncomman to me
I think it works on everyone now. I tested a max range cr. mp xx ex fba against a crouched Sakura, and it hit her. I think she has the smallest hit box, right?
its been sometime since he came online,so i’ll let you know once i find out!
