Don’t know if this is known, for me u2 clocks in at 7f, u2 at 8f. U2 combos off cr mk counter. U1 can combo off CH, but the up hit hits first and the across the screen part has no juggle potential.
So dash forward instead, or do it going towards the front wall instead of back. You get a little extra dmg that way too. Or don’t dash at all and go forward with it when you recover from the FA.
sorry kinda new to vega. how do u do “D/F HK into HK Scarlet Terror does 240” ? after u do d/f hk do u pull back to charge for scarlet terror ? or just roll up to F and press HK
Charge db as soon as you finished inputting the Cosmic heel then go forward and hit a HK right before htey hit the ground(when they are at about your hip or knee level)
I get the feeling that the opponents crumple way faster after a LV1/2 in this game.
From Vanilla to SSFIV I didn’t really feel any difference concerning links. Cr.jab is still the same. I didn’t notice any increased hitbox on st.hp either. Also, I could barely see better startup on RCF. It probably is faster, but only by a small margin. The rest of the stuff is pretty much confirmed though. Different walldive heights, better hitbox on EX FBA.
The odds are that I will pick a new character to play with - I need some diversity. Today I played Vega and I was bored of him.
They are. It was made official by Capcom’s officials (like Seth Killian). Pun intended.
The os on CH is easy enough that I take back my skepticism. I am thinking the negative edge might be giving the break.
Hey so the timing is extremely strict, but you can crossup the large characters with the new fwd BHC or EX FBA. Didn’t try small characters but I am assuming it won’t work.
I made a video explaining 2 different ways to set it up:
Both ways aren’t completely reliable since the timing is so tight, but I could do the Izuna drop setup fairly often. I would definitely use that setup with EX FBA in a match because it is relatively safe to try. I probably wouldn’t use BHC unless I got really good at it, too punishable if it doesn’t crossup.
Does it work against crouch blockers - or is that irrelevant because they’re still in the while standing animation?
I believe it will hit their standing frame if they just crouch, but yes I tried it on crouch block on Sagat (and T Hawk) and it worked. I need to test more on other characters.
Deuy, that is… BEAUTIFUL! Maybe someone with excellent execution skills like Tatsu or Makoto can take advantage of this?
It’s very hard, to the point of probably being down to one frame (the move connecting exactly on the standing frame most likely). I might go so far as to say crossing up with BHC is useless because of this.
However, doing it with EX FBA is actually practical I think. You might catch the guy jumping or walking fwd on wakeup anyway, and even if it gets blocked you can continue with izuna drop or just steer away to safety. I’m not likely to use the cr rh setup though.
Btw, I only tested this on Sagat and T Hawk and I’m just assuming it might apply to other big guys like Zangief, maybe Rog and Rufus but not sure.
crlps are NOT a 1 frame link anymore.
I guess the trial with the 4xcr.jab xx ex.fba is kinda confirmation on that…
Try executing it on sagat in vanilla…>.>
for the record my execution is actually quite bad!
counterhit cr.mk -> ultra 2 is really nice though. it’s realistically hit confirmable so i’d really like to invest the time into learning this
in vanilla it was definitely doable with practice, but the main problem was that playing on different tvs and settings always screwed the timing up and was a bitch to adapt to.
Good stuff Deuy, i’ll be sure to test this out against other people.
Lax, are you sure cr.lp, cr.lp is not a 1-frame link?
That means they’re either +5 on hit, or a 3-frame normal. I haven’t been able to combo a st.lk from a cr.lp. It’s also not possible to combo cr.lk into cr.lp.
Splendid Claw comes out in 8 frames… making it one of the fastest Ultras since most come out in 10 or slower. I still feel it’s too slow to be a reliable anti-air.
Yes it is. I did it twice last night.
Sure it’s not counter-hit?
If it’s not, it would mean that either cr.lk is +4 on hit, or cr.lp really is a 3-frame move.
