Vega Combos & Glitches

Good point, maybe I just hit it twice.

Simple little example of why anyone would want to learn this, and a little guide in the info section. Enjoy~

Wow I love j.HK + cr.LK + EX Izuna. Awesome combo O_O

OMG this is very useful :wow:

abit of info:
In cases where the c.mk xx HK ST doesn’t connect on a crouching opponent, it is usually the problem of the opponent being too far after getting hit by the c.mk. If opponent is crouching at close range, a better alternative is to c.lk xx HK ST instead. If not use ex ST as it has a lower hit box if i remember correctly.

Hitting Scarlet Terror on crouching opponents is also character specific. I made a small vid to illustrate this.

Edit: It is possible to hit crouching opponents like Ryu and Ken (and probably any other character) with any version of the ST but you have to be spaced just right. I also couldn’t get the other ST versions to land (on some characters like Ryu/Ken) when I tried to combo into them with stuff like close cr.WK and cr.WP.

c/p what I posted on your vid

I think the thing I showed in my video is a good choice though, for the shorter characters, and you have to admit, there are a lot of them, so I think it’s worth learning.

What you show in your vid is really good and it’s a consistent way to land non-EX ST’s on crouching opponents but the timing on it might be hard for new Vega users. Besides, I kinda made the vid for myself to experiment with how normal ST’s work as combo enders against different characters.

That’s cool. I forgot to mention that it was a good video (I said so in the youtube comment though). It’ll help a lot a lot of people out there, and actually, it taught me something I didn’t know.

Right back at ya. I still need to learn Vega’s cancellable moves, combo variations and most importantly, when to use them.

Here’s that crossunder I was discovered and mentioned the other day.

Posting the vid to show how it works; I haven’t tested in a match yet, but I have high hopes for it.

I think a hard hitting and unsafe combo such as the close j.hp -> st.hp -> ST is only to be used when the opponent is vulnerable, and that means you could as well do cr.mk -> ST
Sure, it’s a nice find but I’m not that good in hitconfirming something like that. That’s really hard. And if you fail you’re fucked.

I’m pretty good at hit confirming, so it’s good for someone like me. If it’s blocked, clHP, cMP block string.
That combo is really just meant for crouching opponents, seeing as jHP can’t be blocked high and all, you could catch people by surprise, whether they forget to get up, or are in the middle of a sweep animation (you’re zoning him with pokes, you jump in anticipation a sweep to counter your zoning).

Yeah to everyone who can hitconfirm this: respect!
I’d take me a lot of concentration to do it, so i’ll probably never use it. I’m way too leaned back (chillin) on my sofa while I play.

Not sure if anyone posted this.

If you hit some with Df.Hk in the air you can combo with one more DF.Hk.

Jin, you can also do that to a standing opponent with the right timing. At least I did it a few times (by fluke). However, catching them in mid-air is the best option if you want to do this combo since well, doing it to a standing opponent is a waste of what could have been a good combo (could have linked with EX Izuna or ST)

^^I will try to get the timing down soon.

just want to let you people know that you can do a standing sweep before doing a close fba. just press hp on your way up. does one hit and then cancels into fba. i like

Wha?
Sweep and then reversal FBA or something? Or does it actually cancel? I’m not sure what you mean by standing sweep.

I think he’s referring to the standing HP as a sweep? maybe swipe?

i felt so good yesterday.

nailed j.HP -> st.HP -> rcf almost ery time i wanted to.

now after the rolling attack (use medium strength, hard combos no problem but damage scaling reduces overall damage i think), i focus attack cancel the last hit. dont dash too quick, so u can have the focus attack hit too. after it hits, dashed in for the grab usually. or just dash back depending on opponent.

took off almost half a dudes life. tho the quick grab isn’t guaranteed or nothing, the sheer longevity of ur attack and pressure will scare alot of folks into turtling. shoryuken whores will spam it the whole time tho, hence the option to just dash out after the FA then punish with df.hk -> ST

i cant fricken do st.hp>ST lol. but i think the payoff from the above is better…for me at least.
