Vega Combos & Glitches

Sounds interesting. If Vega has a depenable crossup I will cream my pants :rock:

Hah the operative word is ā€œdependableā€, I can only get it exactly the way I want it about a 3rd of the time now after practicing a lot. Iā€™m trying to see if I can do anything substantial with it.

any type of cross up opens up a new aspect to vegas game, opponents will have to defend differently with the threat of the cross up, plus vega has no okizeme options that i know of

if you could post a video it would help alot ive been trying to do this and havent had any luck with it, i can get it so i go over them and land on other side but the hit lands on their front side and i cant link it into a combo

yeah i dont see how that crosses up but i did find a cool glitch when your fighting sagat, if you knock him down you can slide during his wakeup and teleport to the other side of him, if he tiger knee or upercuts for reversal it whiffs bad and you get free combo

Yeah that works against some others too, not sure why. Someone posted a video on that a little while back, I think it was Starscarjenova. Iā€™ve never actually tried it myself though.

so has anyone confirmed this crossup yet because i still think it doesnt work

Iā€™ve tried using j.fp as a cross-up beforeā€¦and it seems rather dependent on the character. Iā€™ve once had it cross-up on a Balrog before, but thatā€™s the only time it happened. Simiarily Iā€™ve had it happen to other characters but only once. Thinking itā€™s really dependent on what the other character is doing as it sure as hell doesnā€™t work when theyā€™re standing.

Can anyone help me with the Trail Normal Stage 4 combo?

Jumping Hard Kick, Standing Medium Kick, Cancel into Light Punch Rolling Crystal Flash

I canā€™t get the cancel into light punch rolling crystal flash and itā€™s starting to annoy the hell out of me :frowning:

Just make sure you have enough time to charge in the air before you start the combo, thatā€™s usually the issue.

Any RCF combo can be a bit tricky, primarily because the roll takes more time to charge than Scarlet Terror or a Wall dive. Try and kick Dan in the shin with your J.HK, then proceed to layout the rest of the combo, it should chain eventually. If you kick too early you wonā€™t have enough time, I found aiming for the shin to help out back when I was doing the normal trials. Hope that helps.

Iā€™ll try to setup my tripod tonight or tomorrow to record it, Iā€™ve been trying to put it through some testing though because Iā€™m not sure if the other person was blocking or not. So far Iā€™ve landed it on some pretty dangerous people: Guile standing and crouching, Blanka, Sagat while standing, and Gief while standing.

We all know they have ways to mess you up hardcore for doing something like that which is why I said dangerous, but it worked at the time.

Jump back fierce doesnā€™t hit as instant overhead, unfortunately.

Vega comes close to hitting the opponent, but it wonā€™t land.

It works for big people like sagat.

You can do fump FORWARD fierce as an overhead that will always land, but then youā€™re gonna get romped on the way down, even if you hit. =P

Totally not worth it.

i tested this cross up with hp. seems like it only works when your opponent is crouching.

only tested on sagat and ken. im too lazy to do more.

Well, I donā€™t know if this has been already posted in other threads at least not in this one, I will claim it as the Patenteā€™s Combo (lolol).

You can link Standing HK after crouching MK for a 3 hit 180 damage and the most important part of this link is the stun, (for short I will write T-Number refering to stun damage) which is T-300, cl.HP, c.MP is 170 damage and T-200 which is just ten hit points less but a whole 100 stun less.

The best use of this link is when you have no claw, because it doesnā€™t get damage penalty, so not only c.MK s.HK is the most damaging non-special move link and the one that delivers most stun damaged but it also will not be affected by no claw status. Also is the easiest most damaging punish to a blocked LP Shoryuken from the shotos.

Against big characters like sagat, boxer, etc. you can link cl.HP s.HK for 210 damage and also T-300 , I havenā€™t practice it against every character but at least agains Boxer is easier to link cl.HP s.HK if they are crouch and to almost everyone if you first jump in with any fierce and then do the combo it will link easier.

Also you donā€™t need to be super close to link c.MK s.HK, in fact, get close to a crouching Ryu, press c.LP to create some distance and it will still link c.MK s.HK, I have even managed to link it after a 2 c.LP on hit distance but is hella difficult

Anyway, enjoy the Patente Combo I will be posting any new findings about Vega.

P.D. I know is not the proper forum but remember folks that Vega has a Kara throw foward HK~LP+LK, almost instantly.

ive been playing around in training mode weeks ago and i found c.mk -> s.hk useless

c.mk -> ST is much better.
