Vega Beginners Thread

i just started playing this guy and really like him. whats buttons are his anti airs?

st.hk, clawless cr.hp, st.lp, h.ase

You can also air-to-air with j.mk, j.mp, and air throw.

is his best option to go light punch?

With Vega its not really of case of what’s simply best, but what is best for the situation. The whole thing with his AA’s that they’re all pretty situational, so he doesn’t really have a "one size fits all answer to jump ins. St.lp is decent, but it’s not a universal answer for AA, at least not for Vega.

Also, none of those options can cover a very close jump in (at the typical crossup distance), so you have either to anticipate and air to air (air throw works great when you predict this jumps) or use cr.HK to slide away to safety.

Who are currently considered the best Vega players to watch?

IMHO, Nemo is the best Vega to watch, hands down. Very aggressive, but takes some unnecessary risks. FlashMetroid is also great to watch and he plays very technical/footsie oriented.

Thanks brother!

Graham Wolf is a good watch too.

He used to be. But his Vega was day 1, so he was doing a lot of unsafe stuff. Since then, he’s dropped the character.

Ohh damn. Yeah its been a few since I really watched Vega playing. I usually try to catch other characters to see their weaknesses. Mika especially in my case. HAHA.

It’s time to get back on the vega train.

Stupid question: How do I best control vega’s regular and ex-wall dive to make sure I get good range to combo off of it? I can’t seem to consistently barehand ex-wall dive for cross up
